MAC Hey, Sailor! (Summer 2012) Discussion

Alright - enough now. Really.

I know I'm new here, but I have as much of a right to express myself as anyone else.

I don't know what caused this tiff, and I don't really care. I would hazard a guess that many of the members here don't either. Is it too much to ask that this petty personal argument be taken off the board? In case it isn't obvious, you're making a lot of people uncomfortable and we shouldn't have to be a party to this.

I don't care whose fault it is, just take it outside. This isn't cool or fair to the rest of us. Not that you seem to care about any opinion that isn't your own.

I don't usually respond to this stuff because I learned a long time ago not to feed the troll, but enough is enough.

All of this "drama" is bringing back repressed memories of 4 years at an all girl high school!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but since none of this actually applies to the Hey, Sailor! collection, I'd love it if people could take their issues to PM. Or you know, hug it out. Bringing the topic back around, I really like FF blush. I'm glad I ordered it, despite killing my wallet w/ the TC collection. The formula is so nice! I'm telling myself that i don't need LA. Hopeful that all future blushes will be this soft and blendable.

I have to say.... I LOVE passion and I LOVE make-up. And I have come to LOVE Specktra for the combination of the two and the added bonus of having so many wonderful people to share with.

is absolutley lovely. Has a helpful and giving approach to this community. I have come to look forward to her FOTD's and think she's a welcome addition to this blog!

Mac-Guy is extremely helpful! Always ready with a swatch and recommendation. And truly has a love for makeup and presentation. I couldn't imagine Specktra without him!

What I find interesting is that both of these individuals bring so much to the table for our benefit. And in a lot of ways are very similar. Obviously, the root of this is a miscommunication and/or misunderstanding. I hope you are both able to put this behind you and move forward. At the very least, agree to disagree. I would hate to see something like this keep either of you from sharing fully in the Specktra community! It sounds cliche to say "Can't we all just get along?" But, I truly hope we can. I agree with Spanky that life hands many people difficult struggles and burdens. Sometimes it's hard to really know how someone is coming across or their "tone" based solely on a post or comment. I'm thankful for my blessings and I am happy to be able to enjoy the things that make me smile. Specktra makes me smile. Makeup makes me smile. We are a community based on a mutual love. Let's try to remember what's important and why we are all here.

I hope so - I have too many doubts about Crew and I tend to regret that type of purchase later. FF looks really nice from the swatches I've seen and the reviews are consistently positive about it. Yet another black box on the way!

And FF has a nice pattern as well, the ladybug is so cute!

Hey Pinkdollface...I'm cutting in on u & Audrey, hope that's ok. Plus I seem to like similar things u do...so u bought the Vera powder instead of Crew, huh? How are u using the Vera powder? There is so much confusion around Crew & how it's to be used & how it's going to turn out blah, blah...so I just want to know about the Vera. Also, did u say u bought fast fleet? Do u like it? I like FF blush as well! I almost passed since I have been on blush overload with TC and RS. But I'm glad I got it. Will be a go-to blush for me.

But I LOVE Vera FF! It's such an uncomplicated multi-purpose product for me. The main color works as a blush for me, the outer rim as a highlighter, and swirled together... an allover glowy-sheen! haven't used my Crew yet to see how it works. But Vera FF is a product I grab ALL THE TIME! I also take it with me everytime I travel for the multi-tasking benefits!
You won't be disappointed if you get it!

The 129SH has a nice travel pouch (though you probably don't want to spend the extra cash unless you had your eyes on it anyway). A cheap alternative - and maybe the most sanitary - are ziplock bags.

Anyway, I love reading everyone's thoughts on the products they hauled. I think MAC did a great job with this collection, even though the products don't seem super unique at first glance. The blushes and bronzers are lovely.

My review for Au Rose Suntints (french): Hi Pretty Kitty, I saw on one of ur posts that u didn't like the texture of one of the LG u bought, it left those stringy things, right? Well, since I can't remember much of my French from high school, can u give me the quick & dirty on Au Rose Sun Tint? That is one of the main things that has been on my to get list from day 1. I'm not sure if this has been posted already but I just noticed that Nordstrom has the Body Oils up, hopefully that means the rest of the collection will be coming soon! I haven't hauled anything yet because I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want, but I know I need to get my hands on SLV and RR.
