Just got a delivery at work

Now everyone here thinks I'm a nut case for ordering so much makeup.

I only have the brush and Sail La Vie so far....I'm going to check out the rest of the collection on Thursday, hopefully by the time I get there they won't be sold out! I love Sail La Vie, though I find it looks best on me with a relatively simple face...just a bit of tinted moisturiser, bronzer and mascara. The brush is great! So soft fluffy, and liking that it's compact w/o being dinky...I might make a case that I can keep a few brushes in inside my makeup pouch..I often find I have to be really careful not to snag bristles on the zip!

I ordered some things on Nordies online this morning. I only ordered the things that I was really curious about or knew that I'd feel like I missed out if I don't have. Aradhana, thanks for ur suggestion about wearing SLV with a minimal eye. Enjoy ur things!

OOOH great picture honey on boost! Have fun! No one needs to know what's in those boxes! U might want to lock it all up so no one gets in ur stash. Ur not a nut case 4 getting 3 boxes of MU. A nut case is one that sends themselves flowers & everyone in the office knows ur not even close to having a significant or insignificant other! Would love to hear ur thoughts on ur goods!

I just placed an order for the regular Nordstrom shipment. *sigh* it might take forever this way, but hopefully I still get my order.. Yay for Sail La Vie! :flower:

I placed my order from Nordies this morning, as well. I does take forever 4 them to ship, I have a feeling my goods won't get here til next week, but there lowest shipping upgrade was $15, uh I have self control to wait...b/c that means I can grab another LS or LG for that amount. Ur picture is beautiful! I really liked the LS on you. & I have freckles galore. When I start not feeling well my face gets super pasty & my freckles stand out & multiply by the 1000s. My mom says I look like Howdy Doody...thanks mom. Look him up if u don't know who he is, he's from 50's tv. Love to see more FOTDs from you! Team Fast Nordstom's Shipping! Team Freckles!

Gah, so many reasons I can't wait for Thursday! Surprisingly getting my Hey Sailor stuff is lowest on the list (I'm taking the day off of work for my Son's birthday and we are going to the beach). Hurry up Thursday! Ps. When I did the presale the SA said I had to pick it up on Friday. Was she mistaken? It does come out on the 24th right??

Don't shoot me ladies and gents but I am glad that the pick up in store option at Nordies isn't available just yet. Alot of stores are having huge events late this week (including the one I go to) and they are still processing preorders. Since some of this is limited stock at the counter (i.e. mine only got 3 Sun Dipped bronzers) it seems only fair that preorders should have access to in store stock first.

I hope everyone is able to get what they want off the site. I find Nordie's delivers pretty fast to my area.

Not to mention on the 23rd & 24th they are having double points if you are using your Nordstrom card (which I am).

You don't need Crew. I know you think you WANT Crew, but it doesn't sound like you're even sure of that.

I knew all along that Crew would be too cold toned for me, but it was so pretty that I wanted it to work. I finally got to swatch it yesterday, and it's just as cool as I imagined. I don't doubt that someone with cooler or more neutral skin tones would see warmth in this, but on my skin it was almost a sheer candy floss pink. Not a good look for someone with my yellow undertones. I could see it looking gorgeous on someone who could carry that colour, but I think I recall you saying that pink isn't your friend.

While I'm far from an expert, Crew also seems like more of a light blush than a true highlighter for paler skintones. It sounds like you're lusting after a highlighter, so this might not be the right product for you, even if the colour is to your liking.

Ok, that's all I've got. Someone else will need to step in to talk you down.

I think the person I spoke to when I did the pre-sale just misspoke with the Friday thing~. I'm just going to go in Thursday morning and pick up my stuff (unless they are jerks for some reason) and then wear it to the beach .

Thanks! I am sure we'll have a great time. We are going to an aquarium and then the beach/boardwalk~. First beach trip of the year and first real beach trip for my son (last time he went he was too small to do anything, now he's turning 3).

I'm debating on Racer Red.  I'm really not sure I'd give it the love it deserves.

I don't want to enable you but I think a red lip would look fab on you. I don't want u not to like it (i.e. Spice...) but if u don't have a go to red, I think trying some on to find the *right* one would be great! I love the way Red Lips look on everyone...when it's the right one! I know my avatar w/ Ruby Woo makes the coloring all funny looking, but IRL it doesn't look like red play doh, I swear! Here you & I go again...but seriously a good red is a must & I think it would look really good with ur skin tone. Would like to know if u succumbed, so keep us updated.

I am usually an enabler but what Audrey said here is right. When I swatched (with my finger, but still) Crew it did not seem like a highlighter one bit to me. I am NC10. I don't even think it would be a light blush on me unless I use a fan or stippling brush to apply it, it seemed rather normal-blush-pigmented on my arm and it wasn't even all that shimmery.

And this is coming from somebody who is quite excited to get Crew!

I would say yes. I have pink undertones as well with redness in my cheeks.

The trick is to cancel out the redness first - the emphasis on cancelling it out rather than trying to cover it. I use a tiny amount of Studio Sculpt and mix it with a drop of F&B mixing medium. Apply it to the cheeks and blend it out from there. I use the Set Powder in Soft Yellow to set and further cancel our redness - only apply it to the redness. Mind you, this does not cover redness completely, but it evens out the skin tone and prepares it for shades like Fleet Fast that would be too pink/coral on bare skin for pale NW complexions. Finally, I strongly recommend using a contour color that is neutral-cool (rather than a brown or beige one) as the shadowing will nicely complement the coral in FF without looking too pinkish. I hope this helps.
