All about the pigmentation of the lip vs. the pigmentation of the skin, sometimes one will work for one and not the other.

Thx for trying Jazz, I knew it was a no go for me, it reminds me so much of Sock Hop l/g and I couldn't make Sock Hop to work until Made to Order from Papier came out, two years spent with a l/g that I couldn't wear till now.

I agree, it's all about the pigmentation of the lips. I know that I am able to get Saint Germain to work for me while it doesn't work on a lot of women of color.

I've heard some people saying that if they apply a light layer of tea tree oil or lavender oil on their skin before applying MSF's, they don't have any breakouts - you could try that?? Or I wonder if applying a primer to your skin first would also give you enough of a barrier so that you don't get breakouts? HTH!

Yeah, you can keep that mammajamma b/c on this skin of mine, I need a warm pink like Rose Romance l/s or it just clashes.

I bought You've got it cremesheen, though, hoping it will add some oomph to my nudes. We shall see.

For those of you who got your online orders from Mac already, did you guys all get overnight or 2-day shipping?

I may even order a backup (my very first one) later this evening. I can't stop looking at my lips! Plus, I love cremesheens. Go For It is amazing!!!!!

Do some MSFs break you out while others do not? I have used Shimpagne and By Candlelight and have never reacted to either but now I'm scared to try my new ones after reading about the ingredient that clogs pores.

I am SO rocking it tomorrow.

Do post pics! I want to see how everyone is rocking it!

So I got everything that I ordered. The MSF's, MES, the lippies and creamsheens were hot as hell, I couldn't even swatch them because they were melting. If you are in the heatwave like I am, put your lippies and such in the fridge to firm up before testing them out.

Tell me about it. I bought Sock Hop off of someone and I couldn't believe how horrible it looked on me. I've had it for a few months.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a Chanel primer on underneath my foundation. And since I already had make up on when I tried it, I had the primer, foundation and a setting spray.

I'm really loving You've Got It. I also think I need a backup of Call My Bluff. It's more wearable for me than Fresh Poo and I don't always want something as warm as Touch.

Any chance it could be the foundation or setting spray?? I swear MAC Fix + makes me break out more than MSF's do...

Does anyone know if a Petticoat MSF with more gold veining translates to a different color on the face than one without?

I have a Petticoat from a previous collection but noticed the one in the store today had a little more gold. I know each has different veining.
Just curious

I wouldn't dare put Fix+ on my face!

I use Mufe Face and Body foundation and Mist and Fix. They never break me out and I've had them forever.

Just got back from MAC. I brought along a few things from my stash to compare swatches. Happy Together and Nuance are pretty close dupes, with Nuance being more sheer and glittery. I had to swatch Nuance 3 times before it matched the intensity of Happy Together. Petticoat and Smooth Merge look almost identical with Petticoat being a smidge more pigmented. I also swatched Jazzed and Ever Hip and I think Ever Hip is more pink and sheer. Also, the darkest stripe of Making it Easy MES is a lighter version of Brown Script eyeshadow. I'm going back for Happy Together MB as I like it better than Nuance but there isn't really too much that excites me about this collection.

Its the ingredients in the Mineralize Skinfinish natural and blushes/highlighters that cause the breaking out. There is a site that someone posted re: isopropryl Palmitate and its rated a 4 from 1 to 5 being the worst. In lab testing that ingredient caused rabbits fur and skin to get red and start peeling as well as a burning rash. I got cystic acne on my chin which still hasnt gone away 4 weeks later but it is fading away thanks to sulfur mask everyday in that spot. I know that ingredient is like the 4th or 5th one on these MSF so i probably will be using them sparingly.. or maybe end up selling them if they really do break me out.

I thought MAC didn't test on animals.

They don't, but they can use ingredients that were tested by other companies. This is everyone's loophole who doesn't test on animals - they just use the results obtained by other companies that did the tests.

I had a feeling something was going to go wrong with the stereo roses I had on hold. I called the counter back this morning to see if I could pay for them over the phone and no one could find the two I had on hold, talked to the manager and she couldn't find them anywhere. She just left me a message say that the MUA that said she would reserve them is a very, very new employee and had no idea what I was talking about. She didn't ask anyone else, she figured figuring she'd ask somebody when she came into work tomorrow. Of course they're all sold out by now
cry.gif
so I'm back on the hunt with the rest of you girls. The manager did say she "highly anticipates" getting a second shipment since it just launched today and sold out everywhere the first day. I hope that does happen so we can all get one!
