I certainly have pores (i'm over 40 - that's life), but I don't have problems with MBs, even really frosty ones. What I usually do to deal with them is mostly skin care based. I exfoliate a couple times a week. About once a week I use a purifying mask with seaweed and clay. Never wash my face with anything hotter than lukewarm water.
If I'm wearing a MB that day, I do not use a skin serum under my moisturizer (I like using one but they always seem to expand my pores a bit). I make sure to wait 10-15 minutes after applying my moisturizer before starting in with the makeup (
very important step).
The other
very important step is I use a 188 and just pat the color on bit by bit without anything more than just the very lightest swipe. NEVER swirl-blend or buff - that just drives the powder into the pores and accentuates everything. It also makes my skin feel much more "coated" with the mineral powder, which is the first danger sign towards irritation and breakouts with this stuff. Those particles are much bigger than smooth pressed powders so don't let them get below the upmost layer of your skin.
Honestly, I usually don't bother with foundation or primer when using MBs and MSFs since I like the really sheer effect, but if I do, my favorites are the cream based Mineral Skinfinish SPF 15, applied with a 190, for foundation and Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer (which is a miracle product - instantly makes my skin perfectly smooth, never irritates or reddens - I often will use it by itself, without a foundation, because with this stuff, the only thing foundation can do better is even out the skin tone! A+ product.)
I won't use foundation/primer right under Mineral products unless I want to look really movie star photo flawless - I'll just apply it to the spots near the nose and sheer it out as it reaches the apples of the cheeks. I prefer the sheer natural looks with MBs and my pores stay out of the way the fewer products I have layered over them. All I get is that radiant, shiny glow. I'm totally addicted to them and almost never buy or wear normal powder blush anymore.
