You are so correct Erin---an esthetician also told me this recently, but it's such a hard habit to break and concept to grasp. I compromised by only using myThis is key! It's important to determine your skin type first, and use the appropriate cleanser and moisturizer for for your skintype. And many people think they're doing right by cleaning their face twice a day, when in fact this is, many times, the reason for over oily skin and excessive acne. Unless prescribed by a doctor, skin shouldn't be cleansed more than once a day. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when the right cleanser, moisturizer and once-a-day cleansing is used!
As with acne, use a concealer appropriate for your skintype, dry vs oily. And depending on the darkness of the spot, use mineralize (light and dry), PLW (medium and dry or oily), SSC if you can find it (dark and dry) or SFC (dark and oily). Sorry for only recommending MAC stuff. That's all i use.I never thought about jawline being dry compared to the rest of my face. Erine I beg of you...what do you recommend for covering age spots?

Absolutely!

Cleaning your face at night or in the morning is a personal preference. If you clean at night, great. Just make sure to remove makeup first with a makeup wipe, as cleansing with a cleanser will not remove all makeup. You want to remove the majority of it first with a wipe (or cream for those that still do it the "old skool" way), then get down to the nitty gritty stuff with the face cleanser. If you chose to cleanse in the morning, you still want to use the wipes at night to remove the majority of your makeup. If you don't wear makeup that day, still use a wipe to remove sweat and environmental yuckies that build up on your face during the day. Believe it or not, your skin, just like your hair, can't tell the difference between the products you're using-meaning your skin and hair doesn't get used to your products and stop working. There's a reason why people say they've used something for years and have never changed. Your skin does change over time and may need something different, which may be why something isn't working anymore, but no, your skin doesn't get bored with, say, a moisturizer or a scrub. Same thing applies to your hair, incase you hear someone say you need to switch up your shampoo or conditioner. For moisturizer, if you're using the correct moisturizer for your skin, you should only need to moisturize once a day, after you cleanse your skin, whether it's in the morning or at night. But if your skin is feeling a little parched, definitely keep something like fix+ or evian spray or the like with you to use as often as need throughout the day to lightly hydrate your skin. With exfoliating, make sure you aren't doing it more than 2-3 times a week, as that is damaging to the skin. And be careful with using the clarisonic, as that acts as an exfoliant as well.[COLOR=0000FF] You are so correct Erin---an esthetician also told me this recently, but it's such a hard habit to break and concept to grasp. Nope, you're on the right track!Ha! I was thinking I was lazy because I usually only cleanse my face once a day.
Erine... No Liqueur??? It's one of my favorite LG's from 08. I was all excited that it was coming back out with this collection. Sad face.I prefer the 168 and apply them the same as i do a powder blush.

Can i suggest one thing? You want to clean, THEN exfoliate. Other than that everything else in the correct order. And yes, unless one's cleanser is properly cleaning their skin, they will break out when first using the clarisonic the first few times.Just chiming in for the skin care, I just bought the clarisonic maybe two weeks ago and my skin has never been better!! I know some reviews state that when you first start using it that you will get breakouts, but thats normal, considering it is getting all the gunk out of your pores.... I didnt have that experience thank goodness, but I think its an important tool, your hands can only get so much off of your face, using this brush REALLY gets into your pores, once I have used my mac makeup wipes, I exfoliate, then use a clinique soap with my clarisonic, once that is done I then use my toner from clinique, I noticed when I use my toner there is absolutely NO makeup on my cotton ball when I wipe my face. I then follow up with my clinique moisture gel, and my face feels so refreshed! Girls I would suggest making the $150 investment with the clarosonic, it saved my skin!!!!![]()
I finally invested in a Clarisonic last year when my cystic acne got bad despite using prescription medications. It really did improve my acne. I try to use it every night but I'll admit that I get lazy. I use the acne version (white and green with the acne brush head). Definitely think it's worth the investment. Plus I love their 90 day money back guarantee. It gives you enough time to make sure it works for you (especially for those that may experience the "purge" period). I don't know if it's a must have if you have naturally great skin...I never would have considered it of I hadn't developed adult acne. My skin is pretty good now...almost like it was before I got acne. I keep using it of course but I don't know if it's a must at this point.Just chiming in for the skin care, I just bought the clarisonic maybe two weeks ago and my skin has never been better!! I second that. I love my clarisonic mia and if/when it no longer works, I'll have to get another.Just chiming in for the skin care, I just bought the clarisonic maybe two weeks ago and my skin has never been better!! :agree: With everything you said. I love the clarasonic so much . Even my mom complimented me on my skin. Im going to surprise her with a Clarasonic for her birthday or Christmas. I use Shiseido skin care , recently I added Mac Volcanic Ash Exfoliator to my skin care routine and I love it. I have used Shiseido for years (once I tried another skincare line an it didnt do anything for my skin) so I switched back to Shisedo and thats the skin care line that works for me. It gives my skin life !! Skincare is such an individual thing and not everyone care use the same productsJust chiming in for the skin care, I just bought the clarisonic maybe two weeks ago and my skin has never been better!! I also looked into it because my skin was so dry (moisturizer wasn't helping much because I was starting to use Benzoyl Peroxide) &i had bad cystic acne. BP &the clarisonic (followed up with a heavy moisturizer) helped to get my skin into shape. I have acne scars now and occasional breakouts but man my skin has improved so much. Im just following the directions on the bottle, it says to exfoliate then follow up with the cleanser, I do get almost all of the makeup I can when I use my mac wipes, I dont exfoliate everyday though because I have oily skin, and when I exfoliate too much, it makes my skin tight, until it is able to "make" more oil if that makes sense lol, but thanks for the advice!!!And yes, unless one's cleanser is properly cleaning their skin, they will break out when first using the clarisonic the first few times.
Your a great daughter!!! lol, Im glad I bite the bullet and went ahead and purchased the clarosinic! Glad you had a good experience as well!!Skincare is such an individual thing and not everyone care use the same products
lol hopefully it NEVER stops working lolI second that. I love my clarisonic mia and if/when it no longer works, I'll have to get another.
I agree, my skin has cleared up a bunch, but I tend to use it ONLY when I wore makeup for that day. It really gets into my pores, if I didnt have a full face on that day, I will just use my soap, toner, and moisture gel...I finally invested in a Clarisonic last year when my cystic acne got bad despite using prescription medications. I had stopped using the prescription meds for awhile and just using OTC treatments because the med I was on (Epiduo) was almost $300 a tube. OMG...it got so bad that I was in tears from the pain. And when I started back on the RX it helped but the acne had gotten so bad that it really couldn't address the issue. Started using the Clarisonic and the improvement was amazing. It didn't happen overnight of course, but even my dermatologist admitted that the Clarisonic was a great choice despite initially discouraging me from using it. I have pics on my blog showing how bad my acne had become. Now I feel like we're hijacking this thread lol.I also looked into it because my skin was so dry (moisturizer wasn't helping much because I was starting to use Benzoyl Peroxide) &i had bad cystic acne.
