MAC Locations: Antiquitease Themes or Events?

My location is having an Antiquitease Theme Day on this upcoming Saturday [October 20th, 2007] and I am super stoked since it's my very first one to participate in as a new MAC MA, but that is besides the point.

We have split the store into two "teams" and we are going to be wearing two different looks: Look #1 is called Vintage Vixens (which happens to be the one I will be wearing) and Look #2 is called Gilty Girls. What look you are wearing depended on what you received in your gratis. Both include shimmery, dewy faces and heavy contouring as we're supposed to be doing th trends we learned in Update. And they are both gorgeous! I do believe we are also going to be applying additional fixtures to our faces, which from what I was told is going to be either rhinestones, something gold, or pearl-esque. Can't wait to see what they've chosen for us.

Everything has been planned out for us; down to what we are going to be wearing (black lace, ruffles, the MAC Antiquitease necklace we were given) -- all to give off the look of being very "antiquey" as well as trendy. Speaking of which, does anyone else LOVE the Antiquitease necklace as much as I do? At first I was like "omg, I am going to look so silly" but I put it on yesterday while test-driving Saturday's outfit and I have to admit I am in love. I want to wear it all this holiday season.

Moving on, what I meant to get at is I wanted to know if any other MAs on here are having anything special happening at their counter or store? Or did any of you already have your special event? I would love to hear what you are going to do/what you already did ... it's just so interesting to hear what other MAC locations are doing/have done.

p.s. -- To all my Specktra-ettes in the DC/MD/VA if you are in the Columbia, MD area on Saturday stop by the freestanding store in the mall and come have some fun with me and the new Antiquitease launch! FYI, to clear up any confusion there might be: it's not an event, only a theme day.

We've planned the same event as you + Bodypainting!
One of my coworkers and I are going to be recreating the Antiquitease logo on a model. We've set up a stage in front of our counter, and we are going to be doing just that for five hours straight! Fun Fun! The model is a very sexy guy as well!

That is awesome! We're actually doing a Bodypainting contest as well between MAC Columbia and MAC Towson in November ... can't remember the exact date. I wish we could do it for Antiquitease that would be so hot! Are you going to be posting pictures at all? I'd love to see what you guys come up.

We're (Bloomingdales SF) having the largest Antiquitease event in the entire West Coast. We have a DJ from Vegas, fake snow, a large candle abra (sp?), body painting, a gymnist on stilts!! Think Cirque de Solie meets Winter Wonderland. It's amazing!

We aren't having our Antiquitease event until Nov 9th, 10th and 11th or something like that, I'm not sure why it's so far away

.
Tomorrow we're having a Calendar Girls theme which is going to be really fun. My friend who is product specialist and I, well I guess I didn't help much after all because my puff paint skills suck, anyway we made sashes saying "Miss October" etc.... Then, using Antiquitease and probably some other LE stuff we still need to push we are each doing more of an interpretive makeup look which is up to us. I'm Miss October and I'm going to use the purple from Mi' Lady mineralize shadow, Fab&Flashy from C-shock (yea my coutner still has some c-shock left

) and probably some Carbon. I bought little spiders to put in my hair. I think I might use Tango Mattene on my lips we'll see.... Anyway I'm really excited about this theme day! Next Saturday we're haivng zombie day

!
The counter I work at is brand new and I think we're still working out the theme day and event thing....it's starting to get better although we've had a few flops.
As for the Antiquitease necklace, I love it! It's very Juicy Couture. I'm such a dork and still so excited to be with the company that anything they give us like that gets me so excited. I jumped up and down when I was shopping in the MAC store tonight and found out that we all get them. It makes me sad when some people that have been with the comapny for a while seem to lose that excitement for gratis and stuff, I feel so lucky to recieve anything!

Do any of you know if Chicago will be having an event like this? I attended the "event" Thursday, which was really tame in comparison to what you all described.

Our event is this weekend, but since Holiday is coming out & that is a million times better received at my location, Friday will be our main Antiquites theme with lace-stenciled Upity on our faces & chests & Saturday is going to mix the two collections together.

Last Saturday, for the launch, we did a Marie Antoinette thing-lace or satin tops with EXTREMELY nude eyes-Enchanting, upity cat-eye, brown mascara or brown lashes, Queens Sin on the lips and super highlighted skin....and of course those necklaces-I'm not really a costume jewelry person so I hate them, but I have actually had people in the mall come up to me & ask where they can get them...but yeah, I thought it was going to be mediocre since it was so simle, but it actually was really successful, we've got like 1 Queens Sin left.

OMG our event is officially over and it was a madhouse. We sold out of almost everything. My counter is lame and we don't do exciting theme days so we didn't do any special looks or clothing for the event. Hopefully I'll have pics soon and can put them up.

Help needed for antiquitease theme day / product specialist !

hi. im going to be the product specialist for antiquitease. i live in the middle east so we are launching it very late. i also have to come up with a theme for the day before the event for the antiquitease official event. besides the necklace what sort of jewelery would you reckon? this will be my first theme day / product specialist as im new to mac. but im excited. what extra things do you think i should do for my product specialist thing. handouts? i saw in canada everyone went with pearl necklaces although i would have imagined for the necklaces to be gold..something antique like. also how do you reckon i decorate the table to set up the makeup on..i guess in the middle east we do it different than rest of the world as we are not under mac international. before the launch a product specialist is chosen, the day after he/she goes over products & the look is the theme day where everyone dresses up & then is the official launch in-store event. any ideas would be great. thanks
