it does. you can't have anything on your lips when you apply these. you apply them to clean lips first, then once it sets you apply liner if you want. then gloss. you can't wear lipbalm or any other gloss with these, otherwise the lipstick won't stick. the longwear-ability will be broken down it it'll wear right off.

Today I'm wearing the Pink Air.. i did use the White Top but it didn't last long. So now my lips are kind of sticky.. no, tacky.. yes, they are tacky.. like its "almost dry". I'm not sure I like this 'tackiness".. I wonder if I should put chapstick on, because I have that with me..

i am an hourly Burts Bee's lip balm user, totally addicted to that stuff and i have a tube in my car/desk/purse/tote bag/nightstand/bathroom.

if i use a lip balm first, then the prolongwear, does it affect the longevity of the pro long wear?

Thanks Erine. I had a feeling that might be the answer.

However, a friend of mine mentioned that she "prepped" her lips by putting a thick layer of lipbalm or vasoline on about 10 minutes before using the plw. Then right before actually applying the plw, she wiped the balm off & blotted her lips to make sure they were dry. She said her lips didn't feel nearly AS dry & the color still lasted quite awhile. I'll probably give this a shot if I feel my plw is too drying (still waiting for Ripe & Ready in the mail).

I don't know, I am a fan of these. I picked up 2 more today (pink air and red reflection) The red reflection is gorgeous on my nw20 self. Bright red with a lot of orange in it and the lustreglass half is gorgeous!

I got Custom Rose/Pink Virtue & Coco Lust/Sexy Sweet. CR is a rich plum rose color & CL is a deep brickish red. The top coats compliment them well, but I could see myself maybe switching it up & using Sexy Sweet top coat over Custom Rose, and vice versa. My first time getting these & I like!

eta: I have to edit this. These really are too drying!

I love the colors I got & the staying power, and when you apply the gloss you can't really feel the sticky-dryness...but when it's time to take off the lipstick? Ugh! It feels so dry and my lips are sticking together. I'm kind of disappointed, but ah well. I can still use the top coats.

I was swatching these like mad today at my local MAC counter (the roll of tape they have for nail polishes was a godsend!) and I'm not so sure about the colours I had wanted. (The glosses, I might add, are all beautiful, and if they were released as Lustreglasses I would buy them all.) Custom Rose and Ripe and Ready are lovely colours, but CR looked heavy and somewhat dull on me, and R&R was an odd shade of coral that didn't suit me at all. I am even more in love with Gypsy Rose for its bright yet wearable colour, and maybe I'll get a spare for the colour instead of that and Custom Rose.

Firehouse Nail Lacquer, imo, is not "Bright chrome red" as MAC describes. To me, it is a frosty tomato red.

Speaking of silvery goodness like the $$$$YES nailpolish - In the newest Sept. issue of SHAPE mag. pg. 213, there is a large puddle of OPI silvery NP called Happy Anniversary - it kinda looks like Starflash shadow Smoke & Diamonds in the pic. Very pretty

There is also a fabulous large swatch of Overrich pigment Mega-Rich.

The only thing I grabbed from Lustre Twins was the nail polishes. haha...

Perplexing is such a deep and beautiful color! It's one of those colors that don't look childish when you wear it. Perplexing looks casual and elegantish at the same time.

I think any skin tone would be able to carry this color. OMG I can't wait to wear this out. hahaha

Firehouse is a nice frosty kind of red. My MA was wearing it and it looked amazing!

$$$$$ Yes, I passed on it. I'm not really a silvery kinda polish wearing person. hahaha... It reminds me of "old lady" nail polish. ;/ (no offense to any one) Although it is a pretty color, I just can't picture myself using it.

you can probably layer the gloss over other lipsticks, but you cannot layer regular lipglasses over the "lipstick" side these cuz they "melt" the "lipstick" (well, not quite "melt", but beak them down to tiny pieces and it's not a good look)

Yep, I found myself picking up another one as well! I tried on Boss Brown and Ripe & Ready and liked both but opted for the latter. I think I'm good with the three I have.

Would you say the colour is worth it? From the pictures it looks great.

Btw, why does the Stig make you buy MAC? He would only make me buy shoes

Is it just me, or do any of you guys find the gloss end of the ProLong Wears much more silky and smooth than normal lipglasses/lustreglasses?
