Liba, I agree with you in regards to the Evil Eye quad and Lady Grey Quad.
Now, please forgive me for all of the typos in my post, I had everything all typed out and completely lost it. *Sigh* So here is the condensed, rushed, mispelled, sloppy version. LOL
So I fnally got to check this collection out and this was definitely a try before you buy collection for me. To bad I made a huge order before doing so. LOL
Ohohoh- I wasn't impressed with this one on me. It wsn't very pigmented and did nothing for me. My usually bright, pink, lips are a bit dark right now (yes, soon to be ex-smoker here) BUT they have just started turning this summer, and my complexion is also funky right now. I had horrible breakouts this summer and my skin is just uneven and blotchy. I'm also tanned. I said all of thats to say,is that could be the reason why I didn't like this color on me. It also seemed to be more on the frosty side, and I hate frosty lipstick. HATE! LOL
Of Shoot, enh, I don't like the brown in this. I tend to stay away from brown lipsticks, because they make me look dead. Plus GOR KILLS this color, well on me.
Prince Noir--- while it looked decent on, it did absolutely nothing for me. It kinda made my face look drab. When my face, lips, skin clear up, this might be a better match for me, and if so, I will try a dupe for it. But as of right now, I need bright purples, like that kissable purple we all fell in love with from the Peacocky collex.
Rebel and Runaway Red--- OMG!!! I loved them. They totally brightened up my face. I've always had a hard time with finding the perfect red and I think this is it. As a matter of fact, i think I need to buy 2 more of Runaway Red. Seriously. I just need to get used to wearing it. LOL
I forgot to swatch the blushes.
Take Root- looked like baby poo on my hands. I'll have to play with this when it comes in.
Seaside-pretty, but I'm an oily gal untilI Jan/Feb, soI am not sure what I'll do with it.
Street cool- was my favorite shade stick. It was also the creamiest to me. I should probably back this up as well. The others seemed drier, but they were also uncapped so that might have something to do with it.
The green one- very pretty. Might go back and get it.
Butternutty--interesting, I think I can create my nude, no eyeshadow look with this one.
forgot about the other one. LOL
moleskin-almost looked ashy on me, and I forgot, I don't really use the UD Naked. It looks great on the person's hand who swatched it with wedge, and soft brown though. wedge totally disappears on my skin. I bought it and returned it. I was digging DEEP in the pan to pull out color.
Outre--Mac really had a lot of potential with this one, if it had more of the mustardy color. There really isn't anything out there like it. It didn't totally blend into my hand and I saw a twinge of the mustard, but not as much as I had hoped. I forgot to swatch it with the colourizations one, with Oute, but that color didn't look that good on my hand.
Mythical-not sure about the red in this one. I don't even wear the peacocky color like it.
carbonzied--seriously, it is a baby center stage. I wish I had brought the center stage with me to compare.
Lady Grey, pigmented, and easy to use, but enh... I feel like they were a lil to icy and frosty for me, and very easy to dupe for something better down the line. The colors reminded me of the colors LORAC does. I think this is better suited for the pale skinned ladies out there
Evil Eye- I swatched with a qtip, and I did swirl it around in the pan a few times, but still got a decent swatch. I could tell that it was a little rough, but I got some color pay off. That last color is gorgeous though. I can see MAC bringing this back. I agree with Liba, that a goat hair brush will probably pick up the color better. I think " bad" eyeshadow happens, I was testing Bobbi Brown's new eyeshadow and hardly got any color pay off with there fluffy brush either.
forgot to swatch plum fun, I just figured I had something like it. But now that I know, I need colors like these to brigthen my face, I might have to get it. I didn't try the other glosses on, but I have Illicit, curvaceous, and (drawing a blank), coming. they all looked good on my hand.
Avenue--it is pretty, had to get it
Dark dervision --had to get it again
Midnight--didn't swatch, I have Siahi, and don't really wear it.
Dark Envy-is beautiful, BUT I like the Bobby Brown Ivy shimmer ink much better. when I compared the two, Dark Envy looks more like a golden, emerald green, while the BB Ivy is a blackened forest green. GORGEOUS. I would love to pair these two with a color like Sumptuous Olive. What do you think?
Now, onto my 226, after lusting for a 1.5years when I first heard about the brush, and trying to buy/find every dupe possible, I finally get one. (BTW, my Nordies had at least 20, let me knwo if you want to know the store). And I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. My brush is tapered, but it isn't a sharp angled taper that I was expecting. it is an angled, but it is more of an angled dome. (does that make sense)? Now I could be tripping, and it is the same, (I'll post pics later) b/c I don't have anything to compare it too. But there are a lot of good dupes in other brands. HOWEVER, I still think I'll like the brush. But you know I'm going to stalk my MAC counters to see if they have anymore. For some reason, and I know it is all in my head, I like getting my brushes from MAC. I had two 217's one from NOrdies and one from MAC, and there were HUGE differences btwn them. One was not as fluffy and more rounded, and on one the handle was even longer and the bristles POOFED out. I like the flatter rounded 217 from MAC, so ever since then, I've convinced myself to get the brushes directly from MAC. (I know, I know, where do the other stores get them from? Yeah, I know... I told you it was in my head).
MAC GUY, where is your MAC Store, I think I want to call them tomorrow. LOL
