I am aware that photos are edited and photoshopped to erase imperfections but if they want to have pale skin in the adverts then they should create lighter shades of foundation rather than manipulate the lighting
Amen to that!!We seriously need Mac to make NC5 and NC10 shades, and of course those in NW too. They are needed!

yeah that is kinda silly. of course there are pale people out there! i am happy being pale too! When I worked for MAC I could only use Studio Fix powder because the liquids weren't light enough for me. After about the third Update where yet another foundation didn't match me, I asked the trainer and the trainer's boss who was sitting in on my training. They said that Karen Buglisi made the decision on them not carrying really light shades outside the pro at some point because "no one is pale anymore," with all the various sunless tan options on the market. I took a lot of offense to that because just because Karen is tanned within an inch of her life (along with at least five of the FEDs) doesn't mean that there are not pale people out there.
Who is planning on trying out the new foundation?
Where do you buy it? At pro? At the mo I use face and body White mixed with studio sculpt or f&b but I have been road testing Bobbi brown skin lately cause Bb do very light shades....So there may be a Market for it?
Just a thought: Have you tried MAC's Airbrush HD Make UP? I believe the lightest shade is NC10 in their Pro Sortiment. Although it's airbrush foundation, it works equally well with a brush.
