MAC - Mineralize Foundation SPF15 Discussion

Lou dear, just an idea...

Do you have any friends who do have access to a Mac counter and perhaps could pick up a couple shade samples and send them over to you??? Then you'll be more confident picking a shade. Once you know how NC 20 or NW15 look like you can decide if you need something clearer or darker.

Another idea would be asking a couple of samples to the costumer service. They surely know what a great MAC costumer you are and I'm pretty confident it wouldn't be too much a problem to send them over with your next purchase. You don't loose anything by asking!!

Really hope you can find your shade.

Yes, that's a huge help - while I have on very rare occasion gotten away with octinoxate, this is out for me because of the alcohol and pentylene glycol. Thanks very much for your help.

I'm trying out the brush for sure! I keep begging the MAs at my counter to sell it to me, but no dice! haha!

Oh, you're welcome dear!!

It's just I hear you... I get how tricky this must be for you. Picking a foundation shade is not an easy thing to do when you have the samples... then I just imagined what this must be without them.

So glad I could help you!!

I tried today to get a sample of Buff and swatch it for you, but for some weird reason they packed up all the Revlon stuff and move it to another part.
So if you still want me to swatch it, let me know. They should have unpacked it by mid of next week.

sometimes makeup companies are pretty generous. i sent an email to pur minerals once asking about foundation shades and they actually sent me a travel sized set of shades i could try. and it was a good thing i tried them because the one i thought would be right for me was so wrong lol and later i ended up buying 2 full size compacts

i really enjoy the generosity of some companies to go out of their way and help customers

Its a medium-full coverage like SFF and sculpt, so its more coverage than tech.

Its a natural satin finish like sculpt, and more suited for normal to dry skin like sculpt (tho all skin types can wear it).

Sculpt is a gel-liquid hybrid, and mineralize is a gel-cream hybrid.

Its not a thick, dry cream like tech.

I haven't tried tech, sculpt or SFF as I don't wear foundations, but this is totally weightless on the skin, and it didn't settle into lines or pores.

Does that help?

this is SOOOO helpful. I have been loving the coverage and finish of sculpt, but i have to mix nc40 and nc42 to get my right shade - there is a HUGE difference between these two shades. in studio tech i am a perfect color match in nc42, but it is difficult to work with as it can be a little dry on colder days. i am going to wait for this new mineralize cream compact even more eagerly now!

btw - u shd tell those folks at mac to consider an nc41 shade

I have the opposite problem. In sculpt I can wear an NW25 and it's the perfect match. I also really like the formula and the feel of this foundation (especially for the winter). In studio fix fluid, I have to mix NW25 and NW30 which is pretty annoying. I'm hoping I'll have a perfect match in this new foundation or I'll pass. I'm too lazy to mix two shades.

I have just bought this foundation. I couldn't wait to try...so I have removed my make up and put this on my face. The texture are so soft, very hydrating creme, so I don't think this is good for oly skin. Today I will try how resist. Sorry for my english, I'm Italian.

ps.for me: medium-light coverage. I like this because I don't use heavy foundation, It's my first mac foundation, so I can't compare this to other.
I have recentely used Lancome Color Ideal Compact-cream and Studio Secret L'oreal Professional
