MAC Mystery

My friend gave me a lipstick and the color is "Deep Plum" it has a # (9C261) instead of a finish. I have been collecting MAC for awhile, but I never seen this lipstick before. So I was hoping someone could shed light on this mystery and tell me when this color came out? I did a search on here but no luck

Do u know where she got it?
Ive read alot of diff groups n if it has a number instead of a finish it might be a fake mac product..
if she bought it online or somewhere or someone who is not an official MAC retailer than more than likely thats what it is...

9C261 - that's a 1999 product code. It will possibly be an old style lipstick (with a square topped cap rather than the bullet point) but may be a bullet point in black or sliver.
