Ugh, I only go to gay clubs and last time I went I got groped and I almost spilled my drink on his head because when I told him not to touch me he laughed and said I shouldn't wear short shorts if I didn't want him to grab me. EW. But one of the guys that worked there saw it all and kicked him out so it all worked out!I usually stick to the gay bars and clubs on the off chance I join friends on an outing downtown because you don't get any of the creepy guys coming up behind you and grinding on you as you dance etc, plus they're just more fun.
Every time we go into just the regular run of the mill club, I leave feeling groped and annoyed.
We had a nice gay club that was really popular (and usually very friendly and safe) but unfortunately the owner had to shut it down for some reason. The other club in town is the really trashy disgusting one where I was dancing with my friends once and a guy literally came up to me and stuck his hands down my underwear. Guys prey on drunk girls there all the time, it's disgusting. Or they hit on you, then when you tell them you're gay they tell you they can fix that. It's real lovely.

OMG!!!! That happened to a girlfriend of mine back in the day. I'm not a club person at all, but I went at least twice. Once to a "regular" club and once to a "gay" club. At the regular club this perverted douche just came dancing into our girl party and thought it would be okay to put his hands on my friend and then he stuck his hand down her pants!!!! We were all pretty young, maybe 17/18 and were shocked and disgusted. We started screaming, but no one did anything...probably due to the music being too damn loud. The douche said if we weren't there to be hit on why were we there. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say we never went back. At the gay club, one of my childhood friends is gay, she took me and another friend to this club in Virginia (forgot the name). It was fun until a bunch of dudes started shaking their hips back & fourth wildly to a song and moving into everyone hitting them. Their arms were waving everywhere and they were hitting people. I hated that feeling also. No apology. I was surprised no one threw them out or had a fight. I hate clubs. Most of my friends are straight so I used to go to the regular clubs with them a lot...but even they got tired of all the disgusting guys there. One guy literally just grabbed a hold of by best friend and like, had her in a choke hold trying to dance with her. Once I saw a completely wasted girl being pretty much molested on the dance floor by two guys. I finally got over to her and asked her if she knew them and she said she didn't and she couldn't find her friends. She was so drunk she could barely walk, but I got her away from the guys (who were trying to take her home at that point) and finally found her friends. That kind of stuff happens all the time there, and the workers don't care at all. The bartenders don't care how drunk you are, they'll keep letting you buy drinks. It's just bad, but it's also the only club around now so people don't get too much of a choice where they go. I just stick with bars now until hopefully another gay club opens up again.

I'm more of a dark seedy bar type myself that I can find a dark corner in to sip my drinks and people watch in. There is one actual club that I will actually go out of my way to go to and it's an industrial club. The last time I went out to a straight club I actually had to defend myself with a beer bottle after this one guy kept trying to stick his hands down my shirt and kept following us around harassing our group. I hate seeing girls out and that drunk and try to help them out when I can because there is always some creepo lurking and waiting to take advantage of them.
