I haven't tried my SM either lolA black box containing stylish me blush has been sitting in my room for the past two days...unopened. What's wrong with me? Haha
It looks really brown in the pan, but when you apply it, it color shifts all over the place - it's gorggggggggggggoussss!
I just opened it. Glad I got it. I think I'm just about good on blushes now!I haven't tried my SM either lol
It's Essie "butler please"It looks really brown in the pan, but when you apply it, it color shifts all over the place - it's gorggggggggggggoussss!
I love your nail polish, btw - what is it? I'm always trying to find just that right cobalt blue.
SMH why ya'll waiting?! That blush is super pretty.I just opened it. Glad I got it. I think I'm just about good on blushes now!
Great! I actually have that one and haven't used it yet! It looks really rich and vibrant in the sunlight!!It's Essie "butler please"![]()
I agree. Stylish me is one of the better woc friendly blushes MAC has come out with in a long time.I'm not much of a photo taker, but I will try to take a few or maybe get a friend to take some in a few days. I don't think there's anything to be scared about these colors - they were all a bit softer looking than I thought they'd be, because the metallic shine isn't as strong as I thought.

Yes !!!I've never been a depotter, but a quad of these is such a good idea! Can you buy one of those empty quad palettes in a standard free-standing store?
awww jeez you ordered? ~closes eyes real tight~ I didn't see any of this.Got my black box!!![]()
Well these are all gorgeous! Dominate is excellent, of course. The color itself is similar to Boyfriend Stealer, but with a touch more black, but the texture is heavenly - all 4 of the frosts are really superior; they feel weightless on the lips. Very impressive.
I LOVE Subverted!!! That is probably my favorite of all 4. It's such a deep, rich, vibrant color. Not your ordinary brown or chestnut at all - it's very complex and looks more red or plum or mahogany depending on the angle. If you only can get one and you already have other deep smokey purple lipsticks, go for Subverted!!!!![]()
Pre-Raphaelite is a little less vibrant and multi-faceted, but again, it's still quite beautiful. It reminds me a little of Hipster, but with a much lighter feeling on the lips. Hipster has more of a red sheen, though, so it stands its own, just for the beautiful sheen.
I was hoping Show-All would be more clearly red - it's rather subdued, but it isn't totally brick red. I think the right lip pencil underneath or gloss on top will bring out its richness more dramatically.
I accidentally ordered 2 Brazenlys. It's absolutely stunning, but I doubt I need a BU of any eye shadow in the known universe. I'm going to see if any of my friends would like it. Otherwise I'll put it up here for someone who wants one. I'd rather do that than return it and have it be trashed.
Deep Fixation is MEGA-STUPENDOUS. It has sheen like the MegaMetal shadows and is almost a little duochromey with the soft brown base and copper-pink sheen. If I'd accidentally gotten 2 of these, I might have kept them both. I don't have another brown with this perfect amount of softness and warmness. I could probably wear it every day for the rest of my life and not miss other shadows. It's like brown, pink, plum and copper all mixed together. Love it!
Crimson Tryst and Love's Lure are very close on me, with Love's Lure being brighter, because it's redder and shows its sheen more strongly, and Crimson Tryst being a little more subdued with more cool undertones. I probably didn't need both, but it doesn't matter - all these colors are just phenomenal with my green eyes. I will just have to make sure to rotate my use of them - any of them would be perfect any time. These are the sort of colors that are my neutrals!
I also got Till Tomorrow Pro Longwear lip colour and it's beautiful - for anyone who wished Hot Chocolate was less red/brown and more mauvey, this is a fantastic color. It was in the Goodbyes section so I grabbed it. It looks fantastic with all these shadows, with a little Hip 'n Happy to line.
My lips are on the thinner side and if I wear boyfriend stealer too intense my upper lip looks like it retreats into my face and looks non existent. I just have to be a lil careful with it but it's pretty.I'm not much of a photo taker, but I will try to take a few or maybe get a friend to take some in a few days.
I don't think there's anything to be scared about these colors - they were all a bit softer looking than I thought they'd be, because the metallic shine isn't as strong as I thought. There's just enough of it to reflect light and make your lips look nice and full, but not so much that it looks like you have disco/gift wrapping lips.
I'd say the only thing to consider with very dark colors is if maybe you have very thin lips, but you know, even that's not a hard and fast rule. I've got a friend with very thin lips who wore my Boyfriend Stealer for a costume party and I'll be darned if it didn't look great on her and get her a ton of compliments and people taking photos of her. Vampy lips are always head turners - I think it helps to keep your hair and clothes simple with them, and keep the eye and cheek makeup simple too (you don't necessarily keep it natural, just simple without a lot of stuff going on at once).
wow really? ~still gonna resist~I agree. Stylish me is one of the better woc friendly blushes MAC has come out with in a long time.
Thanks! I may check Wholesome out since I'm not sure i want to buy the whole Illustrated kit, I was leaning toward's Angel's Kiss at first but after seeing Wholesome on someone closer to my color range, it looks fantastic. You should try Wholesome or even Nude Proof (from the Illustrated collection). They are both similar in shade. Wholesome is a bit more of my fave though being an Amplified Creme.
