MAC Playland Collection - April 7, 2014

Im currently obsessed with the tiny frosty section of MAC Vera pearlmatte powders. Been using that for HL for weeks now. It looks like a frosty silver but oh so pretty! I wish!! I cant live without my mac msfs!!!

I love those Vera pearl mattes! She's a great designer and those powders are terrific. You look awesome!

I only picked up 3 lipsticks: Toying Around, Sweet Experience and Happy-Go-Lucky... I decided to pass on Red Balloon last minute because I seriously have dozens of very similar fuschia lippies... I am considering picking up a lip glass or two, they r smooth n creamy my fave lol

I went to MAC today after work and the only thing that was sold out was Playland. I was surprised. Maybe people are tired of MAC playing with their emotions, lol. Anywho, I decided to swatch all the lippies against ones in the permanent line I felt were dupes. I swatched pure silliness and pink pigeon.

I'm not reading 825 posts that i missed, altho i will go back to admire everyone's swatches.

So i'll just jump in. I think i posted that i ordered Playland lipstick and Brightside Lipglass on the website. Then i went into the store this AM to check out Sweet Experience and compare it with Flamingo. SE is a warm pink and Flamingo is a pinky orange. What can i say, i got one of each, since i can't find the Flamingo i got from the All About Orange collection.

SE is a bit BRIGHT compared to what i usually wear, but i patted it down a bit and i think it works as long as i have eyeliner on. I don't usually wear BRIGHT colors - really really DARK yes yes yes - but not bright, so this is a step outside my usual.

Edit To Add:
SE, since it is Amplified, is also opaque. On my rather lavender-blue lips is looks like a straightforward, maybe even slightly cool, pink, altho it is quite warm, even a bit peachy, in the tube.
Flamingo, on the other hand, is a Lustre and a bit sheer, so it is not as orange on my lips as it looks in the tube.
Today, Sat. 19 April, i put on a light layer of SE, then a light layer of Flamingo on top. They looked great together. I feel very Spring-y.

I'll try to post some swatches in a day or two...

My comparison of HGL and NYX Razzle butter lipstick. HGL on the top lip and the left swatches and NYX Razzle on the bottom lip and right swatches. They're twins! But I've been loving Razzle since I got it a month ago, I'm just glad I stuck to my no BU guns!

My pink pigeon and happy go lucky will be here tom but, I'm glad U posted this...I wanted razzledazzle so much when I took a trip to Ulta to check on NYX radiant finishing (Bobbi Brown) dupe But passed on it because I have way to many of this bright pink color lippies so I'm glad it's so close..I don't mind as much when it's mac or high end cause I always wear those over the other drugstore...
