So I tried to get the lesser stuff out of the way first, so we can talk about the best lipsticks! Like I was saying, they're really nice, but they go to the next level with the glosses. I originally wasn't going to get any gloss, but they make the lipsticks so intense and glowing, I'm changing my buying plan. Whoops!

So, Playland. Those instagram photos are using the yellow pigment along with the lipstick and gloss for sure. Playland is not going to be dense, opaque yellow. It's very yellow, though. Can't really mistake it for gold. I found it difficult to apply evenly on its own from the tube. The yellow gloss also takes a light touch to get even, so the two together need lots of patting and coddling. I had to experiment to get a smooth look. First I tried Playland over In Synch lip pencil - that made a big difference! Then it looked much more even with better coverage, especially with the gloss. It's not nude yellow, though…make no mistake, it's yellow like grapefruit yellow. With perfectly evened out skin and some serious black wings, you can get a sort of futuristic 60's psychedelic nude effect. It takes some attitude. Another thing that makes zero sense but really worked well and allowed Playland to go on evenly was putting on the gloss FIRST, then blot, then put the lipstick on top of that. Then it looks like a frosty, metallic highlight shimmer, really nice - tried that using the orange lipglass, mixed with some of the yellow, then blotting and putting Playland over then patting the whole thing together. I've got the sort of NC coloring that can handle a kooky color like this - in fact, I almost never buy gold lippies because they don't look right on me, but straight crazy yellow combines with my undertones and boom - i get a flattering (if kind of weird) color.

The main thing with Playland and the yellow gloss, they mix with the other lipsticks in this collection really amazingly, turning the pinks into corals and the coral and red into brilliant tangerine/peach/orange. If you are into maximizing the colors and textures of this collection and have coloring that can handle a yellow undertone like this one, it's a must buy for color mixing! Or use that yellow pigment and just have crazy yellow lips - OR use the cyan pencil on the lips with Playland on top and have GREEN! Fun stuff- just don't expect an easy to apply or wear experience.

just quickly for now, Toying Around, especially with Live IT Up on top, IS the amplified second coming of Toxic Tale. It's gorgeousness incarnate. Doesn't give clown lips like Watch Me Simmer, Ablaze and others that have more white in them.

Happy Go Lucky is like the amplified Candy Yum Yum, especially with Carousel on top. I thought I'd be able to resist, but it looks SICK! super duper shiny with the gloss - it's rather whorish, to tell the truth, but in an awesome way. You need major attitude with this combo. If you have green eyes, probably shouldn't miss at least checking it out in store.

Sweet Experience is like a brighter, pinker Flamingo but is extra beautiful with Lots of Laughs on top or even Bright Side or both! or Playland on top!!! or Playland plus the glosses!!! or all of the above!!!!!!! I was thinking, oh I have Betty Bright already, but this is Better Bright, especially if you have a gloss or two and can adjust it into just the right shade of coral for your complexion. I think it'll be fine on dark skin tones too, if you are OK with the light lip look, because you can add a little yellow and take away any white chalkiness.

I'll talk more tomorrow, but if you like bright AND shiny, then yep, you will love this stuff. It certainly won me over!

Thanks, it definitely had that look about it.
OK, LADIES!!! I wound up seeing most of Playland today!  The only things that weren't in yet were the two Casual Colors, Young at Heart and Hi Jinx. For Your Amusement was already in. Wellllll…this was a collection I wasn't feeling particularly desperate about. I just had a bit of a been there, done that feeling about it. However, I have to report that the quality of the lipsticks and glosses are very high and the colors, while not 100% unique, are only similar to colors we haven't had that much of in the first place, and not in the Amplified finish. As pretty and pigmented as the lipsticks are, when you match them with the glosses, they take on an incredible, mega-high gloss shine and a traffic-stopping depth of color, that the gloss or the lipstick on their own can't match. I wasn't planning on buying much, but it turns out I will go out on a limb and get quite a bit more than planned, but I still think that if you want to be conservative about your spending, you'll be able to hold back, if you don't care about colors like these with plenty of fabulous gloss and shine. I'll go over everything in another post, but for now, let me just add that Hi-Def Cyan pigment is simply beyond. It is every possible thing an intensely bright cerulean blue pigment should be. It performs spectacularly, even if you want to smudge it on with a darn Q-Tip. It's finely milled and drenched in saturated color. It's easy to apply without fallout. It's staying power is extreme, even without a base or pencil underneath. Mixed with a little of the new yellow pigment, you get an incredible, eye-searing candy apple peacock green (I think you could still get more or less that color if you already have Lilly-White or True Chartreuse though, in a pinch) Not for the faint of heart. It felt so pigmented, I bet I could even get it to show up in my black hair, mixed with some hair gel and then sprayed into place with hair spray. This is exactly what pigments should be. Totally breathtaking product and my honest pick for the best product of the entire collection, strictly basing it on quality.  The yellow pigment is not quite as saturated, but it's very pigmented too. It's a frost just like the green one from FoF, only much more opaque. MAC is going to wind up luring me back into buying pigments again, because these are everything they should be.
Glad to hear this was a win for you! I've never been big on pigments but it's nice to see that MAC's still got it!

Welp…this is weird, but I think this is a SKIP for me! After all the descriptions, I only want one CC, if that. I was VERY IMPRESSED with the PatentPolishes, and this collection just sounds too "I'm going to Clown College later" for me.
