I hope you feel better soon @liba

After thinking about it, all I'm getting in this collection is Playland yellow lipstick and the fuchsia pink casual color. I'll be spending most on the By Request Collection (2014) in April. I'd rather get perm stuff (PRO eyeshadows and perm lipglasses) from my wishlist than the dupeable lipstick colors in this collection.

I had a dream this went online last night and there was a "secret surprise purple" lipstick they threw in the last minute and it disappeared in my cart faster than RiRi's Pleasurebomb

Thanks PP - and all the other lovely ladies who have been wishing me well. Had so much pain this morning, I went straight to the ER. Strangely enough, the tests showed all my blood work normal and there was no inflammation, infection or blockages. Just stones movin' around. So, it might be feeling worse, but my body's actually handling things better than the other couple times I've had attacks. Still taking it one step at a time, as I would like to try and beat this without removing the gall bladder if at all possible. The pain is no joke when it really gets going, though. Thanks again for all the encouragement and being a great community!!!!

Oh my goodness, Liba! I am so sorry you are in such pain. My boyfriend had issues for the past few years with gallstones although he didn't know that was the cause. Last spring he had to have emergency survey to have his gall bladder removed and afterward he was so much happier. It took some months for his system to regulate to the loss of the organ but really it was mostly just dietary adjustment and he was ok with that. I can understand doing everything in your power to want to avoid surgery though. I hope you are feeling better soon and the pain subsides ASAP.

I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm like literally giving myself a migraine I'm so excited about this collection. I'm getting Red Balloon, Happy-Go-Lucky, Toying Around, Sweet Experience AND Playland if it's not too similar to New Yolk City. Although I always prefer MAC to lime crime, so I guess if MAC made a lime crime dupe I'd still buy it. But I don't have a good gold frost. I want basically Tanarama only gold, so if it's like that, I'm in. Oh, and I could DEFINITELY be convinced about the CCs if I knew what they were. I just know I adore cream blush (I have like every cream blush Illamasqua makes). But anyway....

NONE OF YOU BUY THIS COLLECTION!!!! I want it all for me!!!!!!!!!! And it has to still be there next year when I can afford it!!! lol

Okay back to my homework, just lost like 20 minutes study time looking for Playland pics, oh me :) If only I got a credit for looking awesome.

I hope you feel better Liba. It's awful when health takes a turn for worse. :(

After seeing swatches of the lippies and reading Liba's descriptions, I've completely settled on "Sweet Experience." The color I wanted instantly when I heard about the collection, though, was "Toying Around," and now I'm wondering - is "Toying Around" more of an orange-red coral, or does it have a noticeable amount of pink in it?

I ask this because when I bought "Dreaming Dahlia" from aFoF, I thought there would be some pink to it and it completely reads orange-leaning-red on me. It still suits me fine but I'm not huge on orange and I don't care for red, while orange-pinks and red-pinks are my top colors in lipsticks. I'm trying to avoid disappointment, especially since I'm sticking to buying 2 lipsticks from this collection. If "Toying Around" really is more orange/red, I might just buy "Red Balloon."
Toying around doesn't have much pink. Red Balloon isn't one of the mega-brights and doesn't read with much red on me - it's pink-berry. I think it's a more "adult" color than the rest of this collection and is nice, but won't be something bright, if that's what people are expecting. Try before Buy is the operative phrase here.

@liba SOOOOOooooooo glad you're felling a little better! Our bodies have amazing healing abilities, and it sounds like yours might be finally trying to play nice! Good luck with the treatments, and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!! You are definitely a trooper!

@liba thank you for the info :) I don't think I want "Happy Go Lucky" since you compared it to "Candy Yum Yum," which I barely wear. I know going to the store and seeing the colors in person will be ideal, but I that's never easy with my job so I usually opt to buy online for that reason. I'll leave the decision between "Toying Around" and "Red Balloon" for April 7th. x] Then if I get to go to the counter over the weekend and the one I don't pick up happens to be there, I'll check it out and evaluate whether it's worth going beyond my budget.

I know the easiest answer to these decisions is BUY THEM ALL!!! Lmao. Especially since I love brights/pinks and the amplified finish.

I'm happy you're feeling better, btw.

And I totally understand how you feel about surgeries - after the three that I had for my pilonidal cyst, the one for a fibroadenoma in my breast, and all the healing and infections (I'm looking at you, MRSA) in between, I'm always afraid of the day I'll have to go under the knife again. My body always rejects the stitches too lol.

So I tried to get the lesser stuff out of the way first, so we can talk about the best lipsticks! Like I was saying, they're really nice, but they go to the next level with the glosses. I originally wasn't going to get any gloss, but they make the lipsticks so intense and glowing, I'm changing my buying plan. Whoops! :bangin: So, Playland. Those instagram photos are using the yellow pigment along with the lipstick and gloss for sure. Playland is not going to be dense, opaque yellow. It's very yellow, though. Can't really mistake it for gold. I found it difficult to apply evenly on its own from the tube. The yellow gloss also takes a light touch to get even, so the two together need lots of patting and coddling. I had to experiment to get a smooth look. First I tried Playland over In Synch lip pencil - that made a big difference! Then it looked much more even with better coverage, especially with the gloss. It's not nude yellow, though…make no mistake, it's yellow like grapefruit yellow. With perfectly evened out skin and some serious black wings, you can get a sort of futuristic 60's psychedelic nude effect. It takes some attitude. Another thing that makes zero sense but really worked well and allowed Playland to go on evenly was putting on the gloss FIRST, then blot, then put the lipstick on top of that. Then it looks like a frosty, metallic highlight shimmer, really nice - tried that using the orange lipglass, mixed with some of the yellow, then blotting and putting Playland over then patting the whole thing together. I've got the sort of NC coloring that can handle a kooky color like this - in fact, I almost never buy gold lippies because they don't look right on me, but straight crazy yellow combines with my undertones and boom - i get a flattering (if kind of weird) color.  The main thing with Playland and the yellow gloss, they mix with the other lipsticks in this collection really amazingly, turning the pinks into corals and the coral and red into brilliant tangerine/peach/orange. If you are into maximizing the colors and textures of this collection and have coloring that can handle a yellow undertone like this one, it's a must buy for color mixing! Or use that yellow pigment and just have crazy yellow lips - OR use the cyan pencil on the lips with Playland on top and have GREEN! Fun stuff- just don't expect an easy to apply or wear experience.
just quickly for now, Toying Around, especially with Live IT Up on top, IS the amplified second coming of Toxic Tale. It's gorgeousness incarnate. Doesn't give clown lips like Watch Me Simmer, Ablaze and others that have more white in them.  Happy Go Lucky is like the amplified Candy Yum Yum, especially with Carousel on top. I thought I'd be able to resist, but it looks SICK! super duper shiny with the gloss - it's rather whorish, to tell the truth, but in an awesome way. You need major attitude with this combo. If you have green eyes, probably shouldn't miss at least checking it out in store. Sweet Experience is like a brighter, pinker Flamingo but is extra beautiful with Lots of Laughs on top or even Bright Side or both! or Playland on top!!! or Playland plus the glosses!!! or all of the above!!!!!!! I was thinking, oh I have Betty Bright already, but this is Better Bright, especially if you have a gloss or two and can adjust it into just the right shade of coral for your complexion. I think it'll be fine on dark skin tones too, if you are OK with the light lip look, because you can add a little yellow and take away any white chalkiness. I'll talk more tomorrow, but if you like bright AND shiny, then yep, you will love this stuff. It certainly won me over!
Ugh your description is going to make me spend a lot of money!!!! Especially bc you said the yellow will help transform the colors. Ahhhhhhhh

Does anyone know what MAC casual colors are like? are they pretty creamy or do they dry really matte?
2012 there was a whole collection with Casual Colours. If you look for it you'll find the thread in the color collection section of this forum. Also Liba mentioned them in her Review a few pages back. Hth!

Thanks! Just went back and read everything Liba has posted and that pretty much solved it :) I'm new to the forum but I already trust her because she was definitely right about the Patentpolishes, I'm happy with that purchase :) I'm pretty much getting everything she tells me to! And usually I don't go for lip glosses, but lately I've really been feeling wet, shiny lips. So here's my list

Happy-Go-Lucky
Toying Around
Sweet Experience
Carousel
Lots of Laughs

and MAYBE
Playland
Some Casual Colors (I'll wait until she sees the other two)
Brightside

I already have some of the pigment/chromagraphic pencils from the pro store, and I ALSO agree with Liba AGAIN that Hi Def Cyan pigment is fan-freaking-tastic. Seriously, of my giant horde of makeup, it is the one thing I want to reach for most. I have the pencil and the pigment, but honestly, just using the pigment wet works too, it stays where you put it. I also use NARS eyeshadow primer and Urban Decay setting spray after (I use MAC primer for the face). If they would make that EXACT formula in a super pale, minty seafoam, I'd be sooooooooo happy. No one makes that. NARS has an eyeliner that's exactly the right color, but the formula is kind of crumbly and not that long-wearing. Okay done rambling, just saying if you don't have Hi Def Cyan, you need it, it is perfect.
