You should at least be able to swatch it, even if they don't want to sell it yet.

If you're lucky. Counters & stores around here won't do that.

My counter won't let me do that either... but for the most part I usually go once a collection is out rather than a day before. I just got antsy and decided to order online before swatching this time. I want my box to come!

I went to a counter and swatched everything up today. The line overall looks GOOD. everything flows so well together.

The lipsticks are too light for me. I am nc50/nw45 and they are not for me. very pretty for someone who can pull it off. The glosses did not appeal to me either. I am the type of person that likes a certain lip, so I was hoping Kraft would be dark enough to pull off a neutral lip for me.

Light Over Dark is very nice! I think it works for lots of people. I love it. Glad its out again with this line. It really pulls it together.

Instant Chic blush looked very peach to me. Pretty, but not for my skin color at all. I had the same issue with the Ripe Peach ombre. Too ashen.

The eyeshadows and coral paintpot were the winners for me. Memorabilia is a true purple and nothing like any of the permanent purples. Its a deep purple. Deep like Shadowy Lady. I can see why they are used together in the face charts. I think it would make an excellent color for the outer v or crease.

Cut to fit is a lighter Antiqued. I really like it cause Antiqued is too dark for my liking. Cut to fit is a frost, but it doesn't have the normal frost fall out.

Tissue weight is cream, with a tiny hint of pink. It is a good brow highlight for some. The hint of pink makes it work with this line. I wonder if there is something like it at MAC, but a little darker.

Gazette Grey is very pretty. I really love the specks of glitter in it. Just enough to compliment the tone of grey-green MAC selected. Its a very unique color. I would even pair it with a pink. I would even use the new Dirty Greasepaint stick with it. Dirty has the gold in it

Coral Crepe paint pot is very creamy. It will work well with alot of colors I use.

The Chromographic pencils really caught my eye. The darker one reminds me of Straw Harvest. I am going to back at release to try this on my eye to see if what it does on.

I was initially going to skip this collection but I changed my mind because of Instant Chic Blush but I think that I will still skip the entire collection as I had planned. I would hate to go all way to my MAC store for only one item and then not even get that item. The store is like more than an hour away. I plan on doing a major haul for In The Groove Collection and I keep going back in forth on doing a major haul for To The Beach Collection. We shall see.

I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to purchase from this collection, so please share your hauls here. I would love to live vicariously through you! I will be near a counter on May 7th, so I don't know if I should order online now or just be patient for the opportunity to see things in person. Since I haven't made up my mind, I want to shop through all of you! Please let us know what you love and what you hate! Also, if anyone who already has Hipness also picks up Instant Chic, let me know if you think it is worth having both. I am thinking yes as Instant Chic seems much softer for barely there makeup days, but I would appreciate anyone else's opinion as well. Thanks!

I like seeing things "in action", so that was great.

Alright I have some bad news. I tried to wear Coral Crepe today and I was not feeling it. Let me just say that this is my second paint pot but the first one that I've actually tried to use. It just seemed stiff when I tried to apply it to my eye. It took a lot to get the coverage I wanted to the point where my lids were looking kind of wrinkle. I guess that's from the pressure I applied, I don't know. Then it was hard to blend out. It's like it was set in stone. And honestly, I don't know if it's the best color on my eyes. It's so gorgeous on my hand, but on my eyes I think it's a little harsh. I don't know. Anyone have any tips on how to deal with these paint pots? I only have the MUFE cream liners which are way creamier and easier to blend. Such a bummer.

I'd love to know this as well! I have IC on the way, but I'm not sure if I should get Hipness, too.

IMO, I don't think Instant Chic will last that long...either at a counter or online. You might want to just order it with a free shipping code. If you end up not liking it, you should be able to get rid of it rather easily. I think the rest of the stuff will wait. I'm not hitting up my counter until next Monday. I figure if what I want is there, then I will get it. If not, then oh well. But I didn't want to miss out on Instant Chic, so I just ordered that.

I have this problem with Fresco Rose paint pot so I would also appreciate any suggestions....

What about using a bit of fix + on the brush. I find that MAC's flat, non-metallic paint pots can be a bit on the stiff side; and too much air can dry them out. I actually prefer them to be aliitle stiff because that means they will not crease on my eyelid, sine I am oily. Anyway, I mix my stubborn one, which is Pharaoh with a bit of fix or MAC matte. When I was in the store today, the Coral Crepe was creamy and easy to apply. I think I would exchange it if the consistency did not work for me.

I am curious, what did you wear it with?
