Mac Pro Palettes discussion

Speaking of de-tubing lipsticks, has anyone watched Dustin Hunter's you tube video where he shows you how he does it? I was so shocked at how much product is in the tube that you cannot see. Makes me feel better about the lippies I haven't backed up. Also, the song at the end is hilarious lol.

I can see why an MUA would depot lipsticks but I couldn't do it because then I wouldn't be able to take just one lipstick with me on a night out!

I was thinking of getting the wells and putting ready-to-go doses of pigments in them. I just don't have the time to joggle with the pigments in the morning. But if I had a 'pigment palette' sitting on my vanity I might actually use them!

You will probably end up with glitter all over the place. I refill small quantities into stackable jars as I can close them. Or are you planning on pressing your piggies?

I was planning to put in such a small doses and not move the palette around so it might be possible. We'll see.

Maybe mixing in a couple of drops of mixing medium with each pigment to create a cream/paste might work? I don't know if they would dry out....

OK I am confused

One with a clear lid and one with the double inserts - is that correct?

I chatted to a MAC live lady and she said the double ones are coming out on 4th Oct here in the UK - whoop to that

I presume the clear lidded ones are Pro only?

I have not seen the double insert palettes yet, but they sell the palettes with the clear lids at my regular free/standing (not Pro) store. The 12 and 24 well inserts are Pro only.

How are they already in stores? I have just called in hopes of ordering one..but they are still not released atm. This sucks...she couldn't even give me the release date.

Not sure. I saw them last month b/c I was looking for the old style palettes and my f/s store had already phased those out.

The 15 e/s palette is now sold out. Maybe the new ones will show up soon on the website.

I think I'm going to go with the new system (duh, it's not like I have a choice) but if anyone is selling their new or like new 15 palette, please PM me. My cousin doesn't care for the new set up and wasn't able to stock up in time. Since I spend time on Specktra, i figure I have a better chance of finding them, haha. TIA!

The older style 15 and 6 pans have been sold out on the Canadian site for quite awhile (weeks if not longer). I managed to track down a couple of the 15s at a freestanding MAC store. I think that's the only way to get them now, at least here.

I don't like the new style; they're too thick and the powder on the clear cover would make me crazy. I'm glad I got the pans when I did. I have one extra put aside in case of breaking, collection expansion or as a gift.

ugh they are all sold out on the American site too. I just checked because I saw your post. Whatever, I guess I will have to get z palettes. I have been a tad frustrated with MAC lately...seems they are more about raising prices than keeping what works and what makes their consumers happy

Yes. I think I'm going to get one for my browns/neutrals too.

I called customer service yesterday and the lady told me the double layered palette will come out around the Holidays. Lets see if its true lol
