Mac Pro Palettes discussion

I went to my local MAC to B2M some empties and got Twinks, Retrospeck and Quarry eyeshadows. Then I decided to see if they had the new PRO palettes - they had one left! So I got it for my neutral MAC shadows - since the three I got with B2M would have given me enough to fill the 15-pan!

I then went to the craft store to get a labelmaker. I do have the eyeshadow labels from the pots on the back of the pans, but I can't just lift them out. I also got some magnets because the Zpalette metal magnet stickers are not compatible with these new PRO palettes! Anyway, after some arts&crafts time, I finally completed my palette!

I really love how it turned out. I depotted Jaunty (HS) and Sweetjoy (VV) to also fill the palette, but that's okay because I wasn't really particular on the eyeshadow packaging. I tried to organize them by lightest to darkest, or at least get the highlighter shades in one row, crease shades together, and outer V shades together.

The packaging says it's a "large/single" palette, so I have a feeling the double palettes are going to be a whole separate system. The inserts will probably still apply (x2), but the palette itself will probably be larger to do the booklet style. The MA that was helping me yesterday hadn't heard or seen what the double palettes are supposed to perform/look like, but probably in the next couple of months there should be an update to include them.

....perfect duckrodeo!!!

I really like the idea to use a labelmaker for the name tags.

Looks great. Using a label maker is a good idea. Twinks is on my "Buy Soon" list.

Thanks! I'm familar with all of the shades, but I just liked the look of having the labels right there, too!

I just got Twinks on Saturday with B2M, along with Quarry and Restrospeck. The MA did a test-run of Twinks in my outer V and I was totally enamored with it!

After MONTHS of being wishy washy, I finally decided that I want the old palettes for my e/s...of course it's been sold out for almost a month now. Haha. I guess I'll have to stalk the clearance bin, because I definitely don't want to pay the inflated prices on Amazon or evilbay...it's so crazy how much people are willing to pay for them. If I was going to spend $30+, I'd go with the new style for sure.

There are still some of the old palettes in MAC stores; that's where I got mine. It looked like my local store had some when I picked up Smut in palette form a couple of weeks ago; the boxes were in the drawer with the e/s. I suppose they might have been blush palettes. I'd check around - you may well get lucky.

Thanks! I checked around last month and none of the stores near me have any in stock. I may call around this week and see if some of the other locations have it in stock. But I'll only drive out for it if there's something else in the area worth visiting. With gas prices rising, I really have to cut down on any unnecessary driving. Bummer.

Let me know if you want me to check here. Prices are higher here though (I think the ones I bought were $17 but can't remember) and Canada Post rates are absolutely ridiculous, so you'd be better off with US prices if you can find them.

How long have they been selling the single side palette and 15 e/s inserts on the regular MAC site? I feel like that was put up recently as well.
