thanks for the input, I appreciate it. this never happened when I was in Alaska but I do remember reading about something similar in one of the collection threads.
Yeah, that wax thing was a huge topic with the RiRi collection.

It's not really a huge issue but like I stated once before, I love rolling up my tube and seeing a shiny, pretty, brand new lipstick. The wax stuff is a bit of a turnoff but I wouldn't even bother sending it back unless it were a gift or if the lipstick were broken. At first with the RiRi collection we didn't know what the heck was going on so many of us were on the phone with MAC and sending lippies back. Knock on wood, I was fortunate enough to survive 'wax gate'.

I'd probably just lightly wipe the wax off and keep it moving. As long as the lippie isn't broken which in that case, I'd be sending it back. Or maybe if it were a gift that I planned on giving to someone I'd send it back. Otherwise, I'd wipe it off and keep moving. Just my opinion.
Omg again there seem to be random messed up lippies that's crazy with mac doing that I have been very lucky none of mines have been like this.

HOw are you liking Heaux?  I am no help with a lip brush, I just dab and smoosh, then use my finger to blend it out...but MAC does have a nice retractable lip brush, can't recall the number, maybe 311???
I have that one, it's good for taking in your handbag and it's very precise and draws a nice line. I like it a lot and I always take it with me :)

Thanks, I'll check it out! I really like my lips to look perfect, so I need a good lipliner.

I know right? It's like, why are some messed up and others aren't? I almost expected mine to be melted because I'm down here in the hot bayou but fortunately, all of them have been in great condition.

I haven't been religiously following this thread so sorry if this has been asked. I received my Fixed on Drama yesterday and this is what it looks like. There is a chunk of waxy substance that seems to have slid off the side to the base. The top part has the same trail of wax. I need Erine's expert opinion (or anyone else's). :( Should I return it?
Just pick it off. It's extra wax from the production mold, that's all.

Kim I keep looking at your gorgeous pics. What can you say about Runway Hit? For some reason it keeps creeping into my consciousness since it was rumored to be LE. I'm also mad at you for putting All Fired Up on my mind. I had no interest in another red, but there you go looking gorgeous in it. Someone else here was looking good in it too. Sigh... I don't need another red. So far I'm just thinking FOF.

Erin- I think the MAC Sculpting Creams would be a great product for me to try, but I'm not sure what shade I'd want to get: Coffee Walnut (deep enough?) or Richly Honed (too red?) I'd have to do a phone order and end up being stuck with it so I haven't bitten yet. Any thoughts on coloring? The Chanel powder just doesn't seem to have enough oomph. My dark pigmentation peeks through making it look patchy or something. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Dusting it closer to my hairline it's too subtle. I've got about 4 NARS brushes and I am very happy with their performance. I think the Yachiyo is scratchy, but all others are soft. The Ita can perform blending, but it initially won't seem to do as well as traditionally shaped blending brushes. It'll take some getting used to. It's also a bit strange to wash. I'm afraid I'm going to end up ruining it because the hairs come into direct contact with the handle meaning it'll get wet. For now I just use it w/ powders, EDSF and avoid liquids.

Liba and Elegant - I love how y'all have such similar tastes in dresses. Black and white graphic always rocks. Love its boldness.

PP - starting back at the lower half of my ears; under my cheeks I have a cluster of dark greyish-brown pigment. I also have it just above my temples although not as dark. I've always hated it because it makes my skintone uneven when I think I have otherwise pretty skin.

Weirdly, I don't love a lot of the shade names for these, despite loving the formula. Some of the names sound more drugstore than MAC, and that puts me off a bit.....And now I'm wondering if half the reason I buy products is for the names/descriptions

I had this happen to 2 Heaux lippies I ordered for BU. I inspected the lippies carefully just to make sure they hadn't been opened or used, but there was no sign of use thankfully. So all I did was gently wipe away the wax with a wipe. I'm not quite sure what causes this TBH, but my theory is that this may just be due to the formulation of the Retro Mattes in particular. I've never seen a waxy substance on ANY other MAC lippies I've owned except for this Retro Matte formula. You should be fine though, if you need reassurance maybe call/live chat Customer Service just to be sure.

Thanks! I'm glad there is a precedence for this. I didn't read the RiRi thread much.

Has anyone ever had problems with Ruby Woo having excess wax? It's a retro matte formula but I don't think I've ever read anything about a problem with wax on Ruby Woo.

I'm guessing the retro matte formula must've changed a little causing this to happen with the retro matte formula now.

It probably did a little, wonder what the change was.
