Gonna throw my two cents in on the lip balm debate... I can't stand the EOS lip balms. They are nice right when you apply them, but they do nothing in the long run... Or after five minutes lol. Baby lips are very nice and hydrating. But I find the best results with the Nivea lip creams in the tin! Those suckers are wonderful! My lips feel like silk when I used them and I don't have to constantly reapply it. They come in delicious flavors too. Those are my holy grail lip balms, especially with these drying Retro Mattes.

Yes, yes, yes! I agree. I think I liked the EOS lip balms because they were better than whatever I was using PRIOR to EOS. I don't even remember what I was using before EOS so apparently it must've been sh*tty. I went thru at least 2 or 3 of the EOS balms. And you're right about not having to constantly reapply the Nivea Lip Butters.

Those Nivea Lip Balms are THE tits. Seriously, the caramel kisses is my fav. I thought they were LE so I bought a crapton, months later and I am not even remotely close to hitting pan lol.

Looks like I'm going to have to try those Nivea lip balms! I use baby lips right now and I'm fairly happy with them. I don't think the Retro Mattes are bad as long as I have some lip balm! I've noticed FOD is drier than AFU

Both EOS and baby lips are a thinner texture to me which isn't what I look for when I want hardcore moisturizing revival for my lips. I like EOS and baby lips but not my go to lip balm, I'd have to say that's Burt's Bees original peppermint scented lip balm. I kinda like the finish it has as silly as that sounds, it's not overly sheeny/glossy for a lip balm. I'd describe it as sort of matte even, I love it. Kinda random but I read somewhere that your lips can be addicted to lip balm... That while the balm moisturizes it also will dry your lips out more once it's worn away or whatever, making you constantly reapply it. I know it sounds weird but I rarely EVER go a day without lip balm, especially not in the winter, and I really feel like I need it. While guys, like my brother, he never uses lip balm and doesn't even need it. Funny, huh? Maybe the stuff IS addictive!

who? and what is lanisoh (SP)?
Homeoplasmine is a French everyday family cream that is used for everything like lights burns and the like, that is also used by MUA to put on the lips to make them softer, bur I don,'t know if you can find it in the US :) Lasinoh is originally a nippli cream for breastfeeding mothers but you can use it on your lips (preferably at night as it is very very rich) and it's very efficient too :) I think a member indicated a few months ago that you can find it at the supermarket or the drugstore in the US.

My go-to lip balm, especially under mattes, is from Darling Clandestine. They're a little expensive ($8.00), but the tin is huge and I've probably only used a quarter of the one that I bought in June. I carry it with me EVERYWHERE.

Homeoplasmine is a French anitseptic ointment that has become a bit of a do-it-all wonder product. It's great for cuts and scratches, pimples,as a lip balm and top of my list it is an excellent lip primer and it stays pretty matte too :) A lot of MUA use it as a mixing medium for create lip clolour or cheek stains or even as a whole face primer, although I find it a bit thick for that :)

Now that you mentioned mixing mediums I remeber that I have two unopened MAC MMs for lips. Maybe I should try them to make the mattes a bit more lip friendly. My lips are dry and sensitive. They are satin and glossy though.

Tendertones, I think? I just bought one of the Nivea Lip Butters as a result of this thread - it had better be good LOL! (My current favourite lip balm is Carmex Lime Twist)

You will love the satin one. I just mine every day. It's an absolutely divine product. Just apply it over your lippie and you are good to go.

But, I do like me some flavors. I am surprised no one has tried to make me buy and Jack Black balm yet. Those Nivea ones look tasty, but I have TT coming out my ears and lately I have been using my MAC TLC with the lavender.
