Indie Spirit is very pigmented and blends well for a matte shade. The sample you had was probably dysfunctional due to too many fingers that swatched it before you had a chance. Especially matte shades will not perform well once you touched them with fingers.

I'm on the NARS blush bandwagon. I started off with a several MAC blushes (Coppertone, Desert Rose, Sweet As Cocoa, Raizin, Plum Foolery, Ambering Rose) with every intention of getting more. But I quickly returned them after getting my first NARS blush (Taj Mahal). I only kept MAC Coppertone because it was my first blush, but I haven't worn it since. I find I had to keep building up the MAC blushes too much before I would see it on my face and achieve the color wanted. The MAC blushes are pretty and I do like them, but I love NARS. I don't know why I'm so proud of my NARS blush collection. I'm definitely getting more, including Outlaw.
Because NARS blushes are the bomb dot com that's why you're proud.

Thank you, I am a SAHM so it really doesn't matter but I was thinking of going for some brighter colors than what I currently wear on my cheek {lips okie dokie bright already} and the thing that does bother me bout Nars and led me to the smashbox {which in all honesty I think is the same color} is the glittery. I tend to mattify everything. MUA and SAs always go for illumination, Im almost 50 now shhhh, to look youthful and I am matte! matte! matte! Shiny foundation just looks fake to me :S Oi I am backwards LOL
I hear you - I'm in my mid 40s myself. I've avoided the really glittery NARS blushes because they just aren't flattering to me anymore. The only MAC face products I own with any kind of glitter are Mineral Skinfinish products and I use them very sparingly and carefully.

Both MAC and NARS offer matte blushes. A few of my MAC blushes have a sheen, but I wouldn't call it glitter (Plum Foolery, Peachykeen, Flower Fantasy) but the rest are matte or satin finishes.

What did you think of the orange VP shadow in that duo (if you've swatched it that is!)?
Thanks :)

I have Sin and have been wanting Outlaw but keep putting off buying it. I only have a couple Nars products but I really like them. That $28 price tag makes me keep telling myslef to wait a little bit while I get other things first.

C-Thru is really nice on top of nude lippies though. I wear it on top of shades like Fresh Brew, Our Pick, etc.
I know it's a popular shade for nude lips, but I wanted my Restless! Lol, I don't mean to give C-Thru the cold shoulder. I have very few nude lipstick shades. I have Boy Bait and Celestial Kiss CSGs for my nude glosses and prefer those because of the Cremesheen formula.

Thanks guys. For an extra $8 I might as well stick with Nars although honestly I did swipe on some of that magenta colored blush to back of hand yesterday while picking up some Love Power yesterday and it was so out of the usual and pretty. I think I am going to turn into a clown with all the pink lips, and washes on lids and ummm now blush. Oh Well at least I will be a happy clown instead of a tears of the clown clown :p

The lipglasses look great! Way better than I thought they would. Craaap. Let's hope I can restrain myself because I really hate the lipglass formula, it's like super glue to me!

Not very impressed with this collection. Too many orange based products and a due eyeshadow with 2 permanent shadows is ridiculous! Bring back some of the other products that were awesome that didn't get picked for By Request!

I had an awesome time(and too many drinks) at the event yesterday. It was super crowded, but I was able to swatch everything I was interested in. What surprised me was how pretty Worldly Wealth is. It didn't come across as frosty and harsh as it has been in the swatches. I ended up with: On the Hunt Hidden Treasure Worldly Wealth Restless And I might go back for Delectable.

I learned my lesson after the Hey Sailor event and was smart this time. I didn't get anything to drink until *after* I bought my items. No more drunken purchases for me. But I'm a light weight to begin with and gravity starts to shift after only one drink. I was floating out of the MAC store with my goodies.

Retrospeck looks soooo different on lighter skin. It's amazing how shadows can look like two totally different colors depending on skintone. I'm thinking one of the duo's and maybe two of the blushes.

For anyone who went to the parties, can you tell us what looks the MAs were putting on the customers? From the parties I've gone to, the MAs tend to put one of two looks on the participants. Just wondering what they were. Thanks.

I'm a light weight too, and almost got talked into buying Fashion Nomad and Rich Grounds, but luckily I stood my ground. I already spent more than I wanted to on this collection.

The MUA put Hidden Treasure, Fashion Nomad (with Restless on top) on me, and the girl next to me had on Whims and Fancies and Camden Chic.

Sorry, I didn't pay any attention. I was too focused on getting swatches and making my purchase. I did notice several models were wearing Camden Chic mattene. One had this really pretty eye look. She had the gold from the Marché Aux Puces duo traced around her entire eye like eyeliner, and I think it was either the cream or light gold color from the Culturalized duo on her lid.

I find that Mac mattes are often hard to swatch, but work well on the eyes. I got reminded of that this morning when I put on Gazette Grey (which isn't quite a matte, but behaves like one). It swatches terribly, but has a lot of pigment when applied. I might make a point of testing this one with a brush when I go to visit it in person.
