MAC - Superglass Discussion

These are ok..i think you have to get used to the weird funky shaped glitter but they are blingin for sure. Are they gritty? hmmm well if you press your lips together once, you don't feel it.....but if you rub your lips together back and forth then yes you do. I tried Fab Frenzy over a lipliner filled in my lips and didn't see any of the glitter migrating anywhere.

Will I pick these up? Probably not...only because i have a bajillion dazzleglasses and the hexagon shaped tube is a little strange. lol

I posted swatches in the swatch thread =)

I decided not to make the journey to the Pro store. Only because I'm not excited enough to go over there only to see these things and walk away empty handed. I just feel like I won't be compelled to buy it. I'll wait til it hits my local counter.

it could be because she is trying to take close up pictures though. i have the same problem trying to take pictures of reflects glitters, they never look nearly as sparkly as in real life. i guess the cameras just don't always pick up the same things our eyes do.

True but in essence, I feel that dazzleglasses/cremes will do the same job even from afar. These superglass only look nice when swatched as a glob like erine's swatches bc you can see the glitter and color. When sheered out, they are something else. The recent swatches in the swatch thread have made me turn away from this completely.

So do I!
To me, most lipsticks feel too dry without a drop of gloss on top.
Dazzleglasses are currently my favorites to top lipstick.
I love the sparkly finish, and the gloss, in a color similar to the lipstick, adds a pretty "stained glass" effect.
Of course, if you overdo the gloss, you end up with a gloopy mess that comes right off.

I get around that potential problem by wearing a stain under my lipstick, and using just a drop of gloss.

The sentence "they are blingin for sure" sucked me right back in!
Maybe I just have a higher than normal glitter tolerance, but while I won't wreck my budget on these, I will probably buy one or two, anyhow.

I'm going to get Sugar Overload... I think that one will add nice sparkle to my lipsticks without changing the color too much! The 'glitter' reminds me of the flakies they have in some of those Nfu-Oh nail polishes, it's so pretty!

If MAC wanted to make a super sparkly gloss (which I'm all for, BTW), I wish they'd made some more extremely shimmery glosses like Snowscene, from the Chill collection a couple of years back.
I don't know how they made that one, but it is the sparkliest lip gloss I have ever seen!

The thought of a fuchsia version of Snowscene, for summer, makes me just about wet myself.

Since that is not to be, though, I must say that I do like the looks of the fuchsia Superglass.
I'll probably get that one and one other; we'll just have to see ...

they have a medium colour payoff. more than dazzleglasses, and the same as plush-, lustre- and dazzleglass creme glasses. Quote:

I'm so torn!! Erin said that these are gritty and Temptalia said they're not gritty! I told myself that I'm skipping this collection entirely since I prefere dazzleglasses/cremes over Superglasses.

I have heard more reviews of it not feeling gritty, than those that state they are gritty. ScandalousBeauty posted a review today that stated the glitter looks gritty, but it feels like other glosses.
