MAC Temperature Rising Collection (May 2013)

I went to the store today and swatched the BMS quad. So disappointed. I wanted to believe that it had just been swatched too many times but I doubt it. The green, which was my main reason for wanting it, didn't show up at all. Did anyone else have a problem with it? I may just save up for Night Porter from Nars instead.

I bought the bare my soul quad and my green has to be really packed on and when I swatched it the texture felt stiff it didn't swatch well. A lady on YouTube was complaining that the gold in her BMS quad didn't perform good but mine is perfect. Maybe the quality sometimes varies. I have nars night porter and urban decay loaded both are awesome

Looks great. I didn't even think of using a liner. So far I've seen this one and a plum. They all look great.


As for the Blush number - I'm up there too. Last year I accidentally got a minimum count. I decided to reorganize them so I could fit more by turning them sideways in the container I use. I just happen to notice that there were 5 rows that fit 12 across. Yikes that's 60.

Plus I have some in other containers not to mention all the ones I bought this year. So I'm 60+ Don't think I want to count to get an exact number just yet.

Too many store testers are swatched with fingers, which jacks up the tester. I'm hoping that was the case, cuz not a single colour from the quad swatched bad for me.

I love when stuff like this happens- the two items I didn't have on my list in the beginning (Temperature Rising quad and Altered Beige) are now my two favorite things from the collection! The TR quad looks amazing with my green eyes and AB is like "my lips but nuder" LOL. It's not a concealer lips nude at all, just nice and natural kind of. Love RFL blush too!

I placed an order Wednesday for a BU of Soft Serenade and Sheer Seduction lipstick. It finally updated as shipped this morning. Whew! I'm sure it's just the Half-Yearly sale slowing down the processing, but I was worried it would be back-ordered or sold out. I swatched Sheer Seduction at my MAC store and fell in love, but it was sold out, which is why I went to Nordstrom. So I'm glad I can add it to my stash! The pictures simply do not do justice.

I tried on Caliente the other day after receiving my package from MAC and it's so nice. I was worried the dazzle lipsticks would have a gritty sparkle texture much like Ruffian Gold or Rocker, but the Caliente feels very creamy, not gritty at all. I paired it with NYX Cabaret and it's a great combo. Makes a darkened red lipstick with the sparkle accents. I love it!

I'm NW45. RFL on the left HN on the right. RFL is awesome...not ashy at all.

hey hun, try it first...I tried it and both me & my MA wasn't feeling it. I'm NW45 and 8.5 matchmaster. My MA is maybe a NC40/45. HN was pretty, but I like my Azalea blush better.

i've bought a lot more of this collection than i was hoping...and could easily still go for more....i guess i will skip AAO and Tropical Taboo...

i bought caliente, which is way outside my comfort zone. but i'm hoping for a night out it'll be just the thing....

Ok, so I finally played with most of it.

I am surprised at how much I love the Dazzle lipsicks, they didn't feel gritty at all.

I did not like Altered Beige, these types of white nudes do not look good on me. I prefer peachy nudes. It's disappointing b/c it's pretty.

RFL is pretty. I haven't tried hot nights yet.

Not sure I like the shadow sticks. They kinda hurt going on.

I haven't gotten into the quads yet... But so far, I love the lippies. I might try to get the nude gloss now.

Oh and as far as blushes I only have 20. whew! And hanging out with y'all I'm sure I'll get more. I started with 3 polishes and now have over 20. (Looking at the np thread rolling my eyes)

Oh and on my lips there is no difference btwn FML and Seductive Intent. Anyone else see how FML has a blue sheen in it. It's so pretty. I like it over SI b/c it feels lighter, but honestly don't need it.

nyx pink gold looks good on it, but honestly I returned ab cause don't care for lustre I realized.

I've worn it using a chocolate liner...it's my old trusty Estee Lauder Chocolate in the dual automatic "pencil"...I've had that thing for at least 12 years! Luckily they still make the refills for it and haven't changed it lol. Will try a soft nude pink once I get one. Until recently I really didn't use lip liners except for that chocolate because it was good for making any color work on me. Plus I wasn't much of a lipstick wearer...I used glosses/lip glasses more and the lipsticks that I did use a pencil for were always nudes that I could use the chocolate to tweak.

Have you tried a gel primer underneath, like mac matte or monistat gel? You can use either or as well for cleanup instead of FRE. That along with blotting sheets for touchups may be your answer.

I have used both eye primers, and gel primers, including MAC Matte, and it didn't seem to make much difference, but maybe I'll try it again. I read not too long ago that it's best to apply it (Matte) after makeup. Is that true?
