Karen from MBB looks surprisingly good in Altered Beige. It tones down her pigmented lips a lot more than I thought it could ever and as someone around the same skintone with equally pigmented lips, I wonder if I can pick up Altered Beige + Liquid Passion and have a perfect nude lip for the summer that way. HMMM.
hmm.gif

Funny you should say- that was my observation exactly!
My natural lip color is far deeper claret than Karen's and on me Altered Beige offered surprising opacity- not thick like some of Mac's Amplified wonders- but sort of like a hybrid, "translucent amplified". If you liked the wear of Innocence Beware and the feel of Pure Zen - you might really love this new nude.
I'm occaisionally frustrated by looking at flushed pink lipped gals who can get away with wearing SLEEK Glosses and finding them to be "saturated" in color
huh2.gif
Most nudes usually devolve into interesting (not-so-much) softened tepid cranberry on me- Altered Beige has been a surprisingly pretty triumph (and i did have to wear the bullet down to a nub either to achieve luminous opacity).

Similarly, I hope that Liquid Passion wears not as clumpily thick as say C-Thru or some of the great coverage-but goopy thick lip glasses. Looking forward to more swatches!

So I did a look with most of my TR goodies. I used the Bare My Soul quad on the eyes. I have Bare My Soul on the lid, Romantico in the crease and Friendly to deepen the crease, Blanc Type as a highlight and to blend the edges of the crease colours and When In Rio is underneath my eyes. Romantico is a warmer version of Satin Taupe and the warmth makes it work great with the other colours. Friendly reminded me of Carbonized, but I just checked and Friendly is a bit more bronze and lighter. Bare My Soul in the pan looks like a muted version of Goldmine. On the eyes Bare My Soul is even more muted, it's a nice warm golden nude. When In Rio doesn't look as green on my eyes as it does in the pan. It definitely has some duochrome in it, but the green is deeper in colour and more apparent than the green in duochromes like Club and Burmese Beauty.
On my cheeks I'm wearing Ripe For Love and it actually shows in the pics! It's gorgeous

If you're not sure about it just stop questioning and just get it.
On my lips in the first picture is Feel My Pulse. For some reason my camera always gives purples a grey undertone. It's more pink and brighter in real life. For some reason I find it more summery than some other purple like Seductive Intent or Heroine. It looks a bit juicy because of the finish. I'm personally a bigger fan of mattes and satins, but this colour stands out because of the cremesheen finish.
In the second picture I'm wearing Caliente on the lips. Now again these dazzle lippies are much prettier in person. The sparkles are just so pretty and you really have to see them in sunlight. They don't feel gritty to me when I first apply them, but that might change once I have them on for a couple of hours, so if they start to feel uncomfortable I'll let you guys know later on. The only problem I have is that Caliente is hard to apply even because of the darker colour in combination with this finish. I think that unevenness will show less for Sheer Seduction, because it's lighter.

Just beautiful Pinkdollface! I think I prefer the overall look with FMP, but they both look great.

:nods: Back when the couture powders came in the large size, i got this compact and took the powder out and use it for my blot powder.
6fd55cb8_image.jpeg
It doesn't allow for the plastic disc part tho, so i have to fully depot it
Thanks Erine! Is it difficult to depot the powders? That I have never done before... That pic is so glamorous..:eyelove:

Ok, a few people mentioned that the BMS quad was probably dupeable with the UD Naked palettes. I only have Naked 2, but I did some comparisons. Also threw in a few shades from the Theodora palette too. Hope these are helpful.

Top row is Mac Friendly, Romantico, Bare My Soul
Bottom row is UD West (T), Bewitch (T), Busted, Snakebite, Chopper, YDK, Tease, Suspect, Verve, Half Baked

Starting with Friendly, these pics are taken with flash, indoors, outdoor shade, sun in that order. Snakebite is closest to my eye, and Bewitch is also very close. (Now I'm looking at these pics again I might have muddled up the order, not 100% sure which way round Bewitch and Busted are
001_unsure.gif
)

Next up is Romantico - photos in the same order. YDK is almost identical, very slightly pinker. Suspect is close but more golden. I threw Tease in there even though it's matte and the colour is actually very close too despite the difference in finish.

I didn't get a great pic of BMS vs Half Baked alone, but you can see them in the above. They're pretty close - Half Baked is slightly cooler/stronger sheen, BMS has a very slight greenish cast to it next to HB.

Overall Naked2 on its own definitely has shades that are close dupes for those 3 shades. I'm still ok with having got the quad - When in Rio is gorgeous, and the quad is way more portable than N2 - but this may help those trying to cut something from their list.

Finally I promised a daylight comparison of Rhythm to Mall Madness - MM is on top.

Sorry for picture overload!

Thanks for sharing!  I think I will skip RFL (*gasp*).  It looks kinda similar to SC which I have.  Sure, RFL is slightly more orange and SC slightly more pink (I guess I need to get an eye checkup too lol) but...I need to reign my spending in somewhere!!!  ---I'm trying to be good---

thanks for posing this. I have cs and didn't want to get something similar.

Has anyone tried the strobe liquid? (Golden Elixir) I haven't really been able to find any reviews on this?

Thanks everyone for the kind words

It's funny that this place has actually helped me feel more confident. I was very insecure when I went to high school, but in my second last year I met my boyfriend and he helped me a lot. Now that I'm part of this community I feel even better about myself and I'm no longer afraid to wear the make up I like. My boyfriend is not a big fan of for example bright lippies except for a night out, so he couldn't help me as much with feeling comfortable in those as you guys did. I did learn a trick though for figuring out if my boyfriend really hates a colour or not, I'll just ask him if it's ok for a night out

I am also curious about the strobe liquid. I haven't been wearing liquid foundation, just MSFN in light plus buffed into my skin. Will this put off too much colour under my powder? Or maybe be too warm ( i lean slightly cool)? If anyone has had the chance to play with it what are your thought? Thanx :)
