Russian Red has always seemed more like a satin to me, in both look and feel. I do love it, though!

I know what you mean. I just like a true matte MATTE. My Instigator is pretty bad. So creamy it doesn't set like it should and slides around looking uneven. Blech! Lingering Kiss is almost as bad but not quite. I never had a real problem with any of MAC's mattes until the Punk Couture collection but they did kind of start this trend with the last batch of Mattenes (which I had always LOVED). My Camden Chic was ATROCIOUS! Had to return it (plus I didn't like the color on me.) I could literally wipe it off with a kleenex without it even leaving a stain.

My Instigator is creamy but stayed put, could of been more matte though. I haven't gotten around to wearing my Lingering Kiss outside of the time I tried it on after buying it.Me either. And my Russian Red isn't as bad as the creamy mattes I am thinking of, but it is a weird texture. It is TOO opaque if that can even happen. Plus it leans VERY warm on me.

Yep, Studded Kiss is another one too. It is more on LK's level of creaminess, not Instigator's. Just don't care for those finishes. Like I've said before, thank god Hearts Aflame was normal.My Instigator is creamy but stayed put, could of been more matte though. That's no surprise. MAC has gone so crazy with all of these LE collections that these colors are beginning to repeat themselves over and over.What do you guys think? How similar is Nouvelle Vogue to Please Me?

Nah, you speak the truth. How else is Living Legend creeping up on my list when I just got Lingering Kiss and already own the likes of NARS Train Bleu, Volga, Chanel's La Provocante that I paid an arm and a leg for, etc. LOL! Every one of us has a huge lipstick collection with so many colours that might look like exact same shades to others and we still carry on buying new ones bec we are hoping and thinking that this new shade is soooo different to all the lippies we already own (maybe only to justify buying another lipstick). Sad to think about it that way but that's just the way it is.
Deep in my mind I know that but will I ever stop buying lipsticks for that reason? I guess I won't

Agreed - if it is close to Hoop, I will skip it as well.
It's definitely lacking depth somehow. I don't know if it's from pigmentation or if it's the shade.. but I am missing some kind of plummy richness that lipsticks like Rebel do provide. If that makes any sense at all ^^
