MAC The Matte Lip Collection (Oct 9, 2014)

Oops, i'm about 1350 posts behind on this board... I promise will look at everybody's photos in the gallery. But i think i don't have the time to read every post.

I went down to my local MAC store this AM. Only 3 of us MACaddicts showed up early. I had a nice conversation with a mom and her adorable nearly-2-year old daughter. We recognized each other from waiting for the doors to open on previous collections.

I tested Nouvelle Vogue, but it was not for me. I wasn't crazy about how it looked, yeah, normal, and something else, sort of cakey - plus it reminded me of a drug store lipstick (not matte) that i stopped using a few years ago. So it was a pass.

I also tested Fashion Revival. I wasn't sure from photos if i'd like how it looked on me. One of the MUAs was walking by, she stopped and asked what i had on, because she liked it. They know me, and i trust that they would express their true opinions. I tend to make up my own mind and, wow, i liked how it looked, too!

In addition, i got Styled in Sepia, which was a darker brown that i thought it would be, which was fine with me. And i got Living Legend i guess because i have to buy every dark plum lipstick MAC makes

I also got Bespoken For lip pencil, because i was thinking of backing up Nightmoth, and it's close, altho a tiny tad warmer.

They were also taking pre-orders on the Holiday Keepsakes Collection. They had all the palettes and lip and eye bags. After checking out the Plum Eyes palette, i ordered it. I have a lot of violet, lavender, purple, and plum eyeshadows, but most of the colors in the palette i don't have. I especially like the light and medium grey-mauve shadows. They expect the other stuff in a few days, so i can go back and check stuff out.

I wore Pander Me today along with Cork l/l along the edges. It's the perfect nude for me. Definitely backing this up along with FR.

Keep in mind you can order from Myer on the phone and have it shipped for around $10. If you're a gold Myer One member by chance, shipping is free!

I was told the release date is 14/10, I suggest you call on 13/10 to confirm this and to check if they have the stock.

Launches are usually on Mondays, so I'm a lil confused by the 14/10 date and will be checking in on 13/10.

Not sure if DJ's or MAC standalone stores do phone orders.

If you can get to a counter, even better, but you should have no problem doing a phone order from Myer!

@MissTania Do you mean calling the Mac counter at Myer or just Myer in general to make the phone order?
I just made a call to a MAC and they seemed pretty clueless about when they would be stocking it, but then I called an another one and she said it would be in store on the 13th also.
I wonder if they accept pre-orders? My plan would be to go to MAC after uni today, make a payment of some sort to organise a pre-order for all the lippies and just go pick them up when they are ready on Monday. That would defs save me the stress of rushing to MAC Monday morning!

I know what you mean about Nouvelle Vogue looking cake. It's what stopped me from getting it. Also many people on here have said that it's similar to Mehr, which I already own. Also Fashion Revival seems to be one of those magical universally flattering shades. I strongly advise everyone grab one and keep back ups for the future.

Riri Nude and SiS are almost identical .....you have to see it for yourself to really see a slight hint of a difference. At least that is what I told myself when I placed my order .....

I ended up going to Macy's this morning and backing up PM and SiS. And the I bought LVER and DG lol...I have no self control. And back 2 mac for Relentlessly Red lol. I'm so sorry your store didn't get LVER! I think you will like it, though - it's like a coral red and not super bright like I thought it would be. Did you end up getting any back ups when you went?

I compared swatches of both sets on here.
