MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 (Sept 11, 2014)

Okay I went in stores today and tried on the lipstick and my first impression was I did not like it at all hboy:  But I was convinced to get this lipstick because I really support Viva glam and so the MUA suggested I try it with the gloss and liner so I paired it with Nightmoth and put on the gloss and OMG gorgeousness! I put on the lipstick first and slightly shaded in the corners with night moth and put the gloss just in the center and I loved the outcome! It makes it a lot more wearable and the gold frost doesn't shine through as much and it looks very purple. I could definitely see myself wearing this combo with all black for a night out :eyelove:  I don't think many people will like the lipstick alone, I definitely recommend purchasing the lipgloss with it, it just totally transforms the shade. It is very similar to Icon but Icon is more wearable IMO and its more frosted and not as dark on the lips compared to VGR2. I will definitely have to get a backup of each I really love how unique it is!

I felt the same way, I didn't try it on in the store and when I got to work and put it on I was like woah! (not in a good way) so I'm going to definitely pair it with a dark lip pencil and hope it looks as beautiful as it does on you!

Just got mine from Mr. UPS - not sure what I think of it yet but I defiantly love the lipglass - I am NC 15 for reference - no liner, just lipstick with lipglass -I normally would not pair it with purple eyeshadow, that is just what I was wearing today (simpsons collection eyeshadow and blush)

i traced the lip outline lightly with chestnut pencil and smudged, but it wasn't necessary to make the lipstick work.

i definitely prefer this lipstick on myself with the rest of my face done, rather than yesterday when i tried it right out of the box on my totally makeup free face. although that too, topped with the gloss it worked better than on its own.

the sideshow you blush and aphrodite's shell helped balance out the cool tone of the lips.

i agree with those who said the camera doesn't do the shade justice. at least not mine...

conclusion: me likey!
