I played around with SB after my initial post blasting MAC. It's true! When I swatched using my fingers, I had to literally press hard to get some color. However, when I used my brush, too much product was transferred. So use your brush....

But, I want OC...not another pink blush.

Dior's Corail Bagatelle is looking pretty nice right now!

I have & LOVE LOVE the ^^^Dior Corail Bagatelle

She said she had to scrape it off with a metal spatula to get any color.

My second order was just delivered with my blushes. I ordered both and received both. Thankfully... I am in LOVE with both!!!

At first when swatching on my arm I instantly fell in love with Ocean City but was very disappointed in Sunset Beach. It just didn't do anything for me. I considered returning it, but after trying both on my face I just may love Sunset Beach more than Ocean City. I also received Pinkfringe too. I'm not as excited about it as I thought I would be. Oh well, overall I'm satisfied with my purchases.

I hope you ladies end up with what you wanted...

I actually had a lot of trouble getting color from this one. I'm NC35, and it barely showed up on my cheeks. I returned mine.

I always take time on my blush anyway. i tend to have a heavy hand and have to really concentrate not to overdo it lol. sometimes i get in my car and look in my mirror and im like wwwooooowww and have to get the studio fix powder out and tone it down hahaha. so that isnt a issue for me. i cannot resist a hot pink ombre blush
I live in a basement so you can imagine the lighting I'm working with lol sometimes I go outside and have an omg moment and run back in the house lmao

I was hoping you would end up liking them because both have got to be very pretty on you.

Wow, that sucks. That should not happen at this price point. My Woodrose is fine.

HOW can a big company like MAC screw up this bad? First the delay, then sending customers the wrong product, and to top it all off there seem to be quality issues with the blushes AND lipsticks. It seems like the overall quality is going downhill while they churn out more and more collections. I'd rather see just one collection every two months, but a well planned one where the quality is on point.

Reasons like these are why other companies like Too Faced, Guerlain, Revlon, and even Wet n Wild are way better at releasing collections. MAC really screwed up big time with this collection and too make it worse, a couture collection. If they were having these kinds of quality issues with the blushes then they might as well either push the collection to Fall while they solved their problems or scrap the entire collection. I know it sounds extreme but shit like this is inexcusable no matter what kind of a big name company you are.

After reading the last couple of pages, now I'm scared of what I'll receive once the box arrives. Will it be two Sunset Beaches, a Sunset Beach and an Ocean City like it's supposed to be, defective or broken blushes, or an empty box? Both of the blushes are in the same order while Mangrove and Pinkfringe were ordered separately. All of the stuff will arrive most likely next week and I have no idea what to expect. If the blushes are a fail, then they will be returned, no excuses. I hope that the lipsticks aren't wobbly or break off because that would piss me off so much. If a Two Faced La Creme lipstick (which is creamy and possibly melt under sunlight) doesn't break from the tube, then why should a Lustre, Matte, and Satin lipstick in special "couture" packaging (which are supposed to be a little stronger to hold on the tube) be all wobbly?

i like allura's video reviews better because she let's you see what she sees. she talks through it and you get her honest opinion at the moment she's swatching it. Also if you don't agree with her opinion it's because you see it yourself.
Yes videos are so useful, honestly speaking I didn't read the reviews of Proenza Schouler blushes ( my local MAC store won't have them, and many collections don't arrive here ), but I really wanted one ( everything was sold out once, then twice on the French online store ), and the colour was so bright that I couldn't go wrong in fact. Sunset Beach is a prettyr blush, the pigmentation is good too, the only thing is that it's a very pressed formula, an ombré blush has to be a very pressed compact formula. It's my first ombré blush, I am happy :)

I truly believe they are her opinions. Also im wondering if there is a quality control issue, maybe some of them arent good. I look at her blog every day, sometimes twice. I just dont skip based on her opinion only anymore, i used to all the time. I personally do think her swatches are the best.
Her swatches are the best, absolutely. I think she reviews them against higher luxury brands like Guerlain and that probably factors in to the ratings, but also against other MAC blushes. They should be swatching better but then again, I've had that problem with Tarte's blushes too. The blushes seem to be all over the place though, it 's such a disaster. Perfect blushes, wrong orders, cracked blushes, empty boxes, pigmentation issues! MAC's been doing collections long enough to know the hordes of people that want the products and the panic that ripples through the beauty community when shit goes wrong. I love MAC but in general, I'd like to see less collections only because I tend to see a lot if repeats or close enough dupes and less originality. Some of the collections seem so great when announced and then I see the product list and I see too many permanents and repromotes. Maleficent's quad are all permanent shadows, Playland put out the chromagraphic pencils again even though they are permanent, and 3 of the 4 pigments are permanent. Boring. Also disappointed about Candy Yum Yum being one of the lipsticks in the Osbourne collection. They made it permanent so it's a little " who cares" if they renamed it Kelly Yum Yum.

I feel the same way. I love her pictures and swatches, but as someone who reviews make up for a living, I think she has little patience for products that aren't immediately perfect. She also applies make up a bit heavy handed for me, but it always shows the true colour. I like Karen for showing how wearable a product can be.
