I'm glad I'm not the only one not digging the font! Everything else about it is cool but that font......
Her website is that way too: http://www.proenzaschouler.com/ so she probably wanted it to be that way. The lipsticks do remind me of index divider labels though, like they stuck clear labels on the boxes.

I pictured Proenza as a very sophisticated Italian woman. I have no idea why, lol.
The designers used their mother's maiden names --proenza and schouler. so they are women's last names, ultimately. They said they weren't sure that they wanted to use their own names in case this brand failed (or stumbled, I guess), they could start again. Fortunately for them, one of them left a note on Anna Wintour's tray table on a flight (he noticed her when he walked by, I think she was asleep at the time). Anna arranged that they meet the right people, and they were able to keep delivering interesting clothes.

I guess the rest is history. :)

Wowowowow! This collection looks amazing - I'm so drawn in by the packaging! That could prove to be my undoing for this collection! I love the ombres and will definitely be picking out the ombre and lipsticks!

They're HOT designers lol! And I love their designs, they dressed Kristen Stewart in that tye dye top and flouro ruffle skirt for the new moon premier, which I obsessed about for the longest time. It seems fitting the 90/00's style packaging. Emilia Clarke wore them to the golden globes and I wouldn't have guessed as it seems a lot more sophisticated then stuff they've done in the past. Still a brand for cool girls though :)

Is this a couture collection then? Because I want the ombres and lipsticks, but I don't think I can justify paying "couture" prices for this packaging. I don't hate it... but I don't want to pay more than $16.50 per lipstick for that.

Just caught up on the thread and saw the font.. love the packaging colors and the nude lipstick and face powders look like they could be nice but that font.. If I fall in love with anything I might have to find a sticker to put over it.

This is my first experience with designer collections but I saw on Temptalia that the Gareth Pugh lipsticks were $22? Is that normal price range for designer collections? I will have to really love the shade to drop that much on a lipstick, especially when I'm pining for a UD Revolution lippie which is around the same price.

I'm cracking up over here. The proenza schuler logo is in that font, it's a kind of stark yet lady like aesthetic. very 'clean'

That is the price range for the Couture collections that have been released around the holidays. Usually those products have luxury packaging--new shapes for brush handles, custom-designed compacts. I don't think anyone knows the price ranges for any of the Proenza products as yet. As far as I know, we'll have to wait and see.

I just noticed this little sign up when a I did a "proenza" search of MAC's site.
