Agreed. I'm not a huge fan of Guerlain or Hourglass but those are her jams, and it's her blog and her opinions. I think she's become quite disillusioned with MAC and may come down harder on them sometimes, almost like a boyfriend that has disappointed you too many times and you just expect the worst. I'm an old person, I loved MAC in the mid to late 90's, now I'm not nearly as starry eyed. But really no company makes me feel that way so it's probably a product of experience and over exposure. Agreed about charming Karen- what doesn't she love? There is one unnamed "blog" that I find unbearable because every single freaking item that was "sent for review" has this ridiculously written puff piece on it. I can't even stand to give that particular site traffic because it gives me a case of the Jimmy fists to read her shameless shilling.
hahaha Jimmy fists? I love that i have never heard that. but its quit clear the emotion it expresses and i know what ya mean. And i agree wit you about the dissapointed x thing on her blog. Its like once someone pisses you off so many times, things jus arent the same anymore. But i have been into mac since age 20 and im now 31 and still love mac. I feel i also have a emotional attachment to mac lol.

Ahhhahahaaahhaa! EXACTLY! Example off the top of my head for me was the MAC Pressed Pigments! She HATES those things! But I use the shit out of mine and think they are great! If I would've gone strictly by her reviews, I wouldn't have any of those!! YEP! It's best to know what you like and check out blogs for looks and swatches.. not reviews. In the cyber world now there's too much tainting of the "review system." I don't think there are a lot out there that can be trusted 100%. HENCE, my love for Specktra! I never feel that anyone is praising something they don't truly love here. Even if you disagree, you still know their review is honest for them personally! I agree with this. If you look through T's history, it seems she gave much better reviews of MAC before she drifted into the higher end lines. Once you go THERE... it really changes where you set the bar. It's like all I used in high school was drugstore makeup, and once I got my first MAC item I couldn't believe the difference. And now Nars blushes have made me pickier about MAC. And up the ladder you go.... T has grown in her skills and expectations, like we all do. It just makes sense. I never take makeup reviews personally. Afterall, we definitely aren't seeing the rewards from the sales of any brand! LOL Agreed! I understood what you were saying completely!
Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing.

Preach! And that is a great analogy. It sums up how I feel. I do love MAC. But I see myself only grabbing lipsticks lately. Plus I've recently found out I was allergic to gluten, so I'm seeking out new things. Karen is adorable. She truly loves makeup and it makes her blog super fun to read. And Jimmy fists? I laughed so hard the guy in the next cube asked what was so funny. Everyone at my office already thinks I'm weird, so it's cool ;)

Oh that's pretty! Does anyone think It looks like watch me simmer? I have skippers remorse for that baby. I skipped VG nicki because it was just too bright , and i gave away force of love because it didn't get any love. Maybe I should skip this :haha:
Yes, I think that too :bigstar: Watch me simmer is love for me and will pick this new lipstick if they are the same color. Nope , you should get it as soon as you can...

I have oily eyelids, and i dont think T does. So i always have to see for myself. luckily mac paint pots or paint never crease, or nars shadow primer. But i remember when i wore drugstore makeup before my mac days (11 yrs ago) i creased every day a few hrs into the day. That is good to know, i hear non stop how amazing the NYX pencils are but have been skeptical cuz im a creaser!!!!
The NYX pencil don't work on me at all even with a shadow primer underneath. Crease city within hours.

Yeah see so glad i was skeptical lol. if i couldnt afford mac and had to pick drugstore brands i guess NYX would be on that list, but i figure if i can have one nice item instead of two or three i dont need im game. plus its probably like average two NYX items to one mac as drug store brands have even gone up so much imo

The NYX jumbo pencils crease on me too! Like within 30 min of applying them. It sucks cause they have some great colors!
Agreed! I was so sad when I went out and bought like 6 of them to only find out that they work so poorly on me. The creasing is almost immediate when used alone and only maybe 2 hours if I use a primer. Sucko.

Yikes that was how drugstore makeup was for me before i got into mac i figured that was jus how it was lol. I have always had such oily skin tho. i was so amazed when i had a room mate who was older when i was 20 who had worked for mac and nordstroms at one point. i thought she had a ton of makeup. i have 15 times more now at least. But she showed me how to do makeup and not look like an idiot and showed me mac, tarte, paula dorf, urban decay, too faced, benefit, Dior, and Chanel. I immediately went to mac and got gleam. then back and got canton candy, and all the pinks and most of the golds and bronze colors. Now i expect makeup not to crease. i couldn't believe that there was a better way, that creasing was not jus something i had to live wit. thankfully!!! so i have a really hard time reverting back to drug store stuff. I did recently acquire some drug store items that are much better than the stuff i remember using tho.

Dang, that sucks. They never crease on me, I even fell asleep in them once or twice and they still weren't creased the next day. I use Milk as a base almost every time I do my eyeshadow.
