I had to read that x3 to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, lol. That would be awesome! Well, I hope they will do the same over here. I won't believe it until I see it.

Glad to hear they're improving the brushes, too. It was long overdue.
I've been wishing for a brush that had a beveled oval edge forever from anyone! Glad to see someone finally was willing to just go for it.

I really do like some MAC polishes. One of my favorite polishes of all time is MAC's Light Affair. I hardly wear it anymore because I don't want to run out. I heard that Essie's Body Language is a dupe, but even that one is hard to find.

The packaging on the polish is hot, too, as an added incentive. I'm with you on just Mangrove and nothing else all the way. I had some Hi Jinx CC on my cheeks at the time I tried it a second time and I couldn't wait to rub it all off. They may be offering these bright blushes with this collection but I don't think anyone should wear them together with Mangrove unless they want to wreck the specialness!

Exactly! I love these shades with a nude/naked look. Sometimes I'll do a very light natural es like MACs Exposed & then a very very thin tightlining of black liner on the top lash line only & softly highlight the top of my cheekbones & all those special little places that need some light. It always looks fresh & fierce at the same time.

Chanel's Accent blush lightly works amazing with these shades of lipsticks too. But yes, I wouldn't do those blushes with the lipstick either.

I LOVE Light Affair - it was my first MAC polish, in fact! It doesn't apply that easily, but the color is great. I get compliments all the time on it. I've never come across an exact dupe, but there's a brand new Orly called Naked Canvas that's great in a very similar vein, that I feel good about taking over duty when my bottle of Light Affair is done.

<----there it is! GORGEOUS slight pink based oranged red. Insanely pigmented, leaves a stain that you almost cannot take off. The IT color 2014 imho I really really wished that I bought 2

Rainy dark for pics but...

^most color accurate. It looks more or less red/orange in different lighting.

^Very color accurate
GORGEOUS!

Do you remember Sweet Sister? It's from quite awhile back--I bought several bottles at the time, and am finally on my last one. LOL. The one thing I can say about Mac nail polish is that if they get it right, it's totally awesome.

I think I bought that polish in the 90's! Wow! And I just wore it again the other day! Speaking of modern, this shade was ultra modern and way ahead of its time for Mac (hence my need to hoard--haha!).

Liba, I'm NC15 too, and normally shy away from reds since I haven't found a shade that really suits me yet. Do you think Mangrove might work on me? I have Ronnie red, which I never wear since it goes very fuschia-toned on me, which is not a flattering shade. I am wondering if a more pink, orangey red like Mangrove might work better.

I like Ronnie Red but it goes a little pink if I don't keep it touched up.

Mangrove looks much more like a straight warm red on me. 'Not sure if it will go orange or coral as the day goes by. It doesn't go orange when I blot it down, though, and Ronnie Red goes pink when I blot, so maybe that indicates the general behavior.

Can you get to a store? That's your best bet, especially since these are more expensive.

not Liba, but I too think you should try it on as your lip chemisty might be a variable in the colour you get on your lips... Mangrove might also look pinkish - not much, but enough to not be suitable.

try first if at all possible.

Yes, I guess I should just go try it on. I'm thinking a warm red might be better on me, but it's just theoretical at this point! Thanks, Liba!

Ronnie Red goes REALLY pink on me, so you're right, it's probably just how I interact with certain shades. I will try it first. I bought RR online, after all, and now I never use it.

"Modern gorgeous" is the best way to describe it! It's red, but it's unique at the same time. As for MAC nail polishes, some are definitely better than others, but the overall quality has been going up the past couple of years. MAC is particularly good at unusual neutrals, but sometimes they're intentionally rather sheer and I think that hangs some people up. I don't have tons of MAC polish, but some of my all time favorites and most used bottles are MAC all the way - the blue Gareth Pugh, Breezy Blue (I'm on ration with that one, I've only got half a bottle left), Sweet Pop from All About Orange, In the Buff from To the Beach (also on ration), Triumphant from Strength..there are others. I didn't see the neutral Proenza polish, but that red one behaves perfectly, a real dream to apply…I've gone on about it already, although I probably am going to skip it, since I've already got an Orly red that's quite close on me that'll work with Mangrove like a charm. In further polish news, MAC is doing a complete polish reformulation coming up, dropping the price (I was told to $10 a bottle, which is just :thud: ) and a brand new style of brush that's rounded all around the edge to really get a perfect curved line around the cuticle.  I don't know the colors, but there are A LOT. I guess MAC is serious about moving past their polish reputation this time, as the price drop indicates, loud and clear. Nothing says "give us your business" quite like that. Although I'm sure it'll creep up over the years just like everything.
Finally! They asked us our thoughts on the current brush years ago, and it was unanimous that it sucked! Glad that they finally decided to do something about it cuz the polishes were the one product that wasn't selling. The price drop will definitely make a huge difference!

thanks, Pinkswoon! I'm going to try it on, for sure. It would be nice to find a red that I will actually wear outside the house! I would probably wear it pretty blotted down, though, as it doesn't take much for me to get clown lips.

Primrose lip swatch http://beautybytanci.se/2014/04/08/mac-proenza-schouler-collection/
She says it looks very weird on her unless she covers her lips with concealer first to block out her natural lip color.
