We have 19+ hours and that's not even a lot. It does not bother me at all though, only the opposite in winter.
Yeah it is a bit different in the EU in the summer. When I lived in NE England, it would only get fully dark at this time of year by 11pm and I was a night owl so I'd see the dawn start around 3:45am. However, I was at a more northern latitude then where I live now.

i would love it if year round was like today here. i cant stand the short days in winter i get so depressed and jus sleep and eat like a fat ass. the long summer days are so cheerful and refreshing. would love to live somewhere without seasons, like florida. i so need to get it together and move. seattle is NOT where i want to live forever that is forsure

Tons of sunlight here too. It isn't getting dark until after 10 right now. The best thing about Germany is the rouladen... these metal blinds that have slats that click into each other and shut out all the light. It's pitch black in my room until I open the blinds. I will really miss them when we move back to the states. Not only are they awesome for sleeping, when you leave for vacation you can lock your place down like Ft. Knox. :)

^ We don't have those and I don't even cover the windows with any curtains but let the night/morning sun shine into my bedroom.
