What city do you live in?! SF? That's exactly why I will not be able to move back to SF though... unless a unit opens up at my boyfriend's parents place, pretty sure they would give me a deal so that the BF can stop driving around the Bay Area. They keep telling me to live with him, but I just don't want to live WITH him for another few years lol

Oh god no, I live outside the city, in Burlingame, which is expensive enough, haha. And I actually found my apartment when it was cheaper, the two new tenants that move in last month...$400 more than what I pay!

This is good to know, my boyfriend and I were contemplating moving there for a new job offer but if the cost of living is that expensive we might as well stay here in the south

The further you move away from being directly in the city, is cheaper, there are still some semi-decent priced places, and depends on where you're looking. Also, pay does tend to be higher around here than other places, that can balance out sometimes, but not always.
