I know there are many threads on this subjects already but I'm still abit baffled. So I am in need of your help!

I want to become a make-upartist but dont want to spend huge amounts of money on specialised courses and I'm a single mother with a one yr old so can't do a full time course, so at the moment I'm looking for all the good self study materials which will help me.

Ive bought a few books and searched for online tutorials but have only found a few of quality,

Soplease post back with information on

-Books
-Onlines tutoriols: name of the video or artist
-Websites

And what ever else is available

Kind Regards

Make sure that you check with your state (if you live in the US) or area to make sure that you don't have to take specialized courses. Some states require that you earn a license in cosmotology before you can have a permit to do makeup professionally, meaning that you would need to take classes. I love the new Bobbi Brown book for makeup placement! HTH!

I'm a huge fan of Kevyn Aucoin Books, especially "Making Faces" for specific instructions. However, I haven't found a makeup book yet that doesn't include a fair bit of photoshopping so you don't really get a clear picture of how the face looks IRL.

The other thing is you must practice the techniques to know them. Some techniques take LOTS of practice to become expert.

Hiya,

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking on the net for term for different techniques i.e different eyeshadow techniques, but i haven't found anything.

Is there such terms or is it just more visual?
