Makeup for a blacktie event?

Hi =]
I'm going to a champagne tasting and 5-course dinner at Le Bec Fin, a five star restaurant in Philadelphia. Being only a sophomore in college, I've never been exposed to this kind of sophistication!

Okay, so I'm wear a gorgeous v-neck, babydoll cut black dress, with peeptoe gold heels, and gold jewelry. Would it be too much to have a gold look for my eye makeup? Or should I stick with something dark and smokey? What do you think!
I have a huge selection of makeup, in every color you could imagine

I'd go for the classic look of perfectly lined and filled in red lips, very neutral on the eye makeup and with an intense black liquid eyeliner with a nice wing. You could even wear some nice false lashes.

The thing is if you're eating, you have to consider touch ups on the lips, so the other look I would recommend is very neutral lips, maybe just some gloss, and then do a gold and black smokey eye and false lashes.
