Makeup to match red dress?

Hello there goddesses of Specktra,

I have a question. My friend and I are going to a graduation ceremony (we both teach) and the event is quite dressy but not too formal... a bit conservative, even.

She and I decided not to go to a salon and do our makeup instead. She asked me to do her eye makeup, but I'm not very good at matching eye makeup colors with clothes. She wants to wear a red dress. I'm thinking that a look that's not too over the top might be okay, especially since she's only 20. How will that work? Any recommendations?

You could try a neutral/gold-ish eye. Perhaps starring Woodwinked and Satin Taupe?
Not sure of the colors you have, I don't think you should have to buy more shades.
