matching skintone for concealers

so last year i was told nw20 would be a good color for concealer on me so i bought it in the select cover up. i later bought the same color in the select moisturecover. i think it worked for a while but it seemed to become an orangy color on my skin. i'm wondering if it went bad or something?
so i went to mac today and he recommended me nw25 (i didnt' think i was that dark but it seemed to match really well) so i bought it in the select cover up again.
if i'm nw25 in the select cover up, would i be the same in all the other concealers? i'm thinking of trying the studio finish but i dont want to find out the colors are different for each concealer.

There are some differences between the different formulas. Also, the way your skin reacts to it slightly affects the colour. I wouldn't be afraid to try different formulas though. Just keep the box and receipt so you can exchange or return it.
