Mixing glycerine with MAC pigments?

I read about this method recently, how is it better than using just water or MAC's own mixing medium? Anyone tried this and how are the results, and any tricks to it? thanks!

Some formulas of mixing medium do contain glycerine. Straight glycerine will not dry properly, and can burn if it gets into the eye.
