Mixing Medium Question

If I make my own mixing medium (1 part glycerin, 3 parts water) can I use it with my MAC eye shadows (the pot kind)? Like will it create that little layer that always happens when you use a wet brush?
Also will using the mixing medium make the colors more vibrant?
I want to use it but I don't want to ruin my eyeshadows.
Thanks in advance!

Hmm depending on the eyeshadow finish it may or may not crust no matter what you use. Anything that is a Velvet, Satin, Matte, and Matte2 will crust. I haven't had any problems with my Veluxe Pearl e/s though.

in order to preserve my shadows, I would never take a chance and wet the pan. I would take a whole bunch either scraping a bit into a little plastic jar or use a fresh dry brush, load up the e/s and then wet the brush from there (and therefore use another clean, dry brush for the other eye)

I do find that my shadows look more vibrant with the mixing medium.

you definately don't want to put a wet brush directly into your shadows. it will cause bacteria to grow, and could cause an infection. you want to do what gigglegirl said, either scrape shadow off, or wet the brush after you get shadow on it.
