NARS products' expiry date?

Hi there,
I'm just getting into collecting NARS makeup and I have two blushes and one lipgloss right now. I noticed on the packaging that it has that 24 months container icon on their boxes. This is when the product is supposed to expire? Will the NARS product actually smell and go bad after this time?

I have been a nars ADDICT since hmm about 1999. I STILL have some eyeshadows from then are they are perfect. I actually went to a nars counter asking if it was disgusting that some of my items are that old. they said as long as the consistency and smell didnt change dont worry about it. I have NEVER had ANY nars item "go bad" its sooo worth the money.

the MA did mention that if you are bag about cleaning your brushes sometimes the top layer of a blush will harden from the oil being transfered from your face to brush to blush.

I just want to double-check with you more knowledgeable gals - I was gifted a NARS liquid foundation three and a half years ago; it was misplaced/tucked away in a small drawer somewhere, still in it's original package (albeit the cap had been opened already). It's still full, and the texture/consistency still seems perfect. Will it negatively affect my skin if I use it? is there any safety issue that I ought to know about?
