Put it on your lid and then add the color you want on it. I don't go any higher than the lid. Use it under bright colors to make them really pop. I only got a sample but I put Too Dolly over it and it made the color more brighter and vivid. Also, I have practiced using Henna on top of it and Romping as well. I haven't tried out Rubenesque so not sure there however you have got the two colors I would probably get in the future.

My favorite combo with Blackground: Blackground all over the lid with Antique Green pigment over top of it and Kelly Green pigment mixed with Chartreuse pigment in the crease, I use Vex as a highlight. This makes a really nice smokey green look. I bet Deep Blue Green would look AMAZING with Blackground! Pink Pearl pigment looks fantastic as well. (Can you tell I like pigments?)

I use Rubenesque all over the lid when I'm using browns, golds, coppers, anything in that color range. If you use a matte color over top it looks really buttery and smooth with the bit of shimmer from Rubenesque underneath.

I just remembered this thread. It has some awesome suggestions:

Just play and have fun. I know you will find some awesome combos!

I dont have blackground, but you could probably use as a base for a smoky eye, or under blues & greens like Parrot for example.

I have rubenesque & it's pretty versatile. I use it with all that glitters, expensive pink, & evening aura (LE). I also use it as a base when im using browns, golds, & neutral looks. Oh yeah, i love it with oranges. My favorite combo is rubenesque as a base, evening aura (or arena) on the lid, texture in the crease, time & space in the outer V, and then Orange eyeshadow in the crease. It's a nice daytime look during the spring & summer seasons.

hope that helped.
