Since you're breaking up with him, after you're done breaking up, don't talk to him. Don't answer calls, etc. If he doesn't take you or your relationship seriously, why do you want to be with him? It sounds like whatever good exists is outweighed heavily by the bad.

I'm sorry you've had to go through this.
No offense, but he sounds like a serious asshole. If he can't give you the time of day, spend his bday with you, or can't name a reason why he loves you, then this break-up is for the best.
Don't worry, there are plenty of other great men out there and you will find a man who can do all of the things that this one can't
