Nose Stud or not?

I've been wanting a nose stud for awhile but have some questions.
1. How long does it take to heal?
2. Would I be able to take it out for a WinterGuard performance without it getting messed up
3. Left or right?
4. Which Type is best?
5. I'm allergic to nickel is there nickel free nose studs?
