Real.

They are brushes that have come out with specil edition gift sets e.g. the Holiday olive/magenta/teal bags etc.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it because as far as I know, the SE brushes only come in sets rather than plastic sleeves and I've never seen any brushes with a grey/silvery handle like that. Also, I checked their other auctions and their 187 brush looks a bit shorter than mine... I might just be over-analysing it though.

Looks 'real' enough to me. But then again, I don't own one of those brushes...SE or regular. Sorry I can't be of more help.

It is a real brush. I have one. It just means short edition. It is on the MAC website. Forget that, I just checked mine and it says SH for short handle. Does it actually have an E or an H? It looks identical to the one I have, but maybe it is a fake.

It looks just like my 129 se. I think it is appearing grayish on screen because of the lining around it. The brushes I have bought in the sets have all had that plastic sleeve as well. I think your safe.

it has a thin layer of paper around the handle, and plastic seeve on top, every single brush in the set is wrapped individually. All of mine say SE on it (i have olive and teal 2005 sets). This looks legit to me.

SE is the limited edition sets, SH is regular short handle.

its the 129 SE, special edition, or short edition.
it looks real.
a lot of the brush set brushes DID come wrapped like that, in protective sleeves with protective tissues, within the brush sets.
that 129 looks like mine, just shorter.
some people, myself included, feel that the SE brushes compromise the quality a bit. i find my regular brushes to be softer and better quality, plus, i prefer the long handles.

When the Lightful skincare line was out, MAC had a try-on pac for it.
The pac included SPF fondation and ohter skincare stuffs plus this brush, which is with gray handle like the one in the pic.

I do have this brush as well.

Hope this info would help.

another question...is this mac brush real or fake? it doesnt have the number on. apparently its a 'printing default' or something happened in the making of it...
