Yes I would find them comparible to Mac. I know I've seen a few reviews on Nyx having some Mac dupes. As well as the L'oreal Hip line.

I see you're in the metroplex, try your local beauty supply store. I get all my Nyx lip products from a beauty supply by mom for $1, the glosses cost anywhere from $3 to $5. I usually get my Nyx eyeshadows from Ulta.
