It's really sad but true. It's like "wut, you just work in retail like I do, you think you got more money than me or something? why so snobby?" and alas this is why I seldom go into expensive stores/counters unless I KNOW I'm going to buy something. And I will only buy something if I get treated with respect. You may look good but I know you ain't got money, just like me!
