Recommendation for Mac products?

I'm going to get my makeup done at a Mac counter on Sat. The minimum purchase is ... $75. Since it's that much, i want to make sure I get the besetest products, so I don't end up returning them...
Now.. I've NEVER used any Mac products, cause they're so expensive. What're the basics in your Mac collection that you have to have?

oops, i meant specific products from Mac.

//edit
I have brown hair, dark or medium depending on if I go swiming(chlorine bleaches my hair?). Brown eyes. I'm Chinese, the very yellow kind of Chinese.

I guess it depends on your skintone.

Brushes are a must.

One of the top fav brushes are 187, 217, 239.

Eyeshadows.

One that most people love is Satin Taupe and that colour usually work for most skintones.

Eyeliners.

A popular one is Blacktrack but it's a gel liner so it takes practise getting used to using it.

Lipsticks!! I think you should avoid Matte finishes for now. Good pigmentations are amplified cremes. Sheer colours are sheen and lustre. But these are ones that you have to try to know which one you like.

Lipglosses

A lot of people like dazzleglasses but they're extremely sticky...the less sticky ones are lipglasses. They have a Double Dazzle collection which recently released a lot of colours. Check those out. The dazzleglasses that people like are Extra Amps, Funtabulous, Stepping Out, etc.etc.

Overall, lip products are for you to try out to figure out what you like. For eyeshadows try to avoid lustre finishes. But there are good ones like Tempting...but starting out, try to avoid them for now for safe measures lolz

I'm having a really bad brain fart right now lolz but I hope this helped out in some way

The above suggestions are great but I would definitely get a neutral color paintpot so you can use it as a base for your eyeshadows!

The 187 brush or the 188, i have both but you could do without one as a starter. The 219 pencil brush, 224 tapered blending brush and then a 252 large shader brush. If you are on the hunt for more of color suggestions you can find decent duplicates of a couple of these eyeshadow brushes from Sonia Kashuk, (tapered blending, large shader specifically..) What color is your hair, eyes, and skintone. You might get more specific colors this way.
Oh and a tube of Plushlash Plushblack mascara- or the brown one, but they are very very good.

i would go with a foundation, a foundation brush if that what you use, a paint pot, maybe 2 e/s.

I'd go with:

- a foundation or powder (if you do not like foundations)
- 3 or 4 eyeshadows (basic ones)
- a face brush (depending on whether you'll be getting powder or liquid foundation) and an eyeshadow brush
- and a paint pot

Here are some specific products that I'd recommend:

MSF natural - if you do not like the feel of foundation of your face, then get this. It'll give you a light coverage, looks natural with a healthy glow.

Eyeshadows:
Ricepaper - multi-purpose highlighter. it'll go with anything thing, even by itself. And cause you have yellow undertone, it'll blend beautifully.
Cork - Can be use as a lid or crease color, depending on what kind of look you're going for. Great of those neutral looks.
Espresso or Chocolate Brown - Great for outer coners, to add depth.

Face brush:
182 - if you're getting MSF natural, use this to buff the powder on your face, and it'll give you a flawless look
187 - get this if you're getting liquid foundation. My go to brush for liquid foundations. Use it to stipple your foundation on, and it'll give you an air-brushed look.
217 - if you can only get one e/s brush, get this. Works for all over lid color or crease work.
239 - if you can get another e/s brush, get this. Great for packing on colors on the lid, and for highlighting the brow bone.

Soft Ochre paint pot - multipurpose paint pot for everyday use. And it'll blend nicely into your yellow undertone skin.

I'm chinese too, with moderate yellow-ness.
