Restoring a shrunken Smudge Pot

I bought a Smudge Pot online (not from Stila) at a cheap price. I got it today & opened it up & the product has shrunken back from the sides quite a bit.

I'm guessing it's old stock (hence why it was cheap).

I have other Smudge Pots in which the product fills the whole jar.

I swatched it & it seems authentic & usable, but I'm wondering.... is there any way I can "re hydrate" the product?

As it's shrunken it looks like less than 70% is there. I'm still deciding whether or not to complain. I know it was cheap so maybe I shouldn't have had expected more but it didn't say "discounted because it's old".

I remember coming across a mention of a way to restore shrunken/drying Paint Pots and perhaps the same method would work for Smudge Pots. I'd try a search for "dry Paint Pots" or something.

I don't have any smudgepots, but I'd revive them the same as I do my older creme eyeliners... spray with Fix+ and close tightly (do NOT stir) and revisit it the next day or so.
