Rouge Artist Intense lipstick finishes

I've tried two different Rouge Artist Intense lipsticks, both in the Pearly finish. Although the colors are very nice, I find that formula to be too drying and lip line accenting. Saw a pretty color in the Matte finish that I liked and swatched it on the back of my hand. It seems like it's probably not drying at all. Do any of you have any experience with the Matte finish?

I have one of the mattes in #4. It's pretty. I usually have a problem with mattes, but not with this one really. It's really similar to Mehr by Mac. I add a similar colored gloss for added comfort and shine since my lips are large and naturally dry. I love the pearly finishes, though. I find that sometimes it can feel dry, but for me, they never look it. Try throwing on the tiniest bit of vaseline or lip balm before applying the lipstick.
